Cynthia Jill Dienstag

I hired this attorney in Sept 2019, she never filed a responsive pleading, never filed my mandatory disclosure...blew through my entire retainer with emails and phone calls of me trying to find out what is going on with my divorce. A Motion to Compel was brought against me for "purposefully delaying..." my case. I trusted her to represent me and to say that she failed is an understatement. The judge and other attorneys I have consulted with all agree that she dropped the ball. She is also coming after me for additional fees, funny enough those fees are for a 7 min phone call in which I am asking her for a status update on my divorce. She charged me for half an hour (7 minutes) and then I received the Motion to Compel a week later!!! Now I need to start from scratch with a brand new attorney. So save your hard earned money and do your self a favor - go to someone else! This is very disappointing considering she came highly recommended. I trusted her and she failed me. I should have known after my consultation when she charged me for an hour and she had another client in the room (during my hour) and was dealing with her case for the majority of the time. She probably spent an entire 15 on me with various interruptions and of course charged me for an hour. I should have ran after that. Don't make my same mistake!

I wanted to write this review because I really believe that Cynthia was an amazing attorney. I had been with my ex-husband 26 years and we have three kids. She was fair and very ethical . What I loved about her was that she had a global plan for me and looked at every angle and aspect of what ... was happening with my case. When the opposing council tried to bully us, she knew how to handle every situation with out even a flinch of hesitation. I felt confident with her advice and with her by my side. I had interviewed many lawyers before her and spoke to maybe about 30 before hiring Cynthia. She responded to every call and email in a very timely manner. Cynthia has great knowledge of marital law. I would highly recommend her.

I was in the midst of a ridiculously contested divorce, that had been dragging on for over a year and a half, thanks to opposing counsel and her manipulative corroborations with my previous attorneys. Before I retained Cynthia, I was at a loss as to whom I could find that would advocate for my best i...nterests, and more importantly, to advocate for my baby girl. It was like God had answered my prayer when I found Ms. Dienstag here on Avvo. Yes, Cynthia has many years of experience in her field, and is very knowledgeable. But what truly sets her apart from the rest is that she genuinely cares for her clients, and for the children that are caught in the middle. She is definitely not like some other attorneys, whom take advantage of your dire situation to make a few extra dollars. Cynthia...sincerely...cares! Cynthia managed to finalize my long-standing divorce in 4 months! We were dealing with an opposing counsel that acted as though she was out to get me personally (and I never knew this woman); endless verbal attacks and fictitious allegations. Truthfully the worst attorney, and in my opinion, not someone who is dealing with a "full deck of cards," per say. Someone with a criminal and FL State Bar disciplinary history and a 1.5 rating on Avvo!! Cynthia was tough and relentless with this attorney, nipping her attacks and games in the bud! In addition, my divorce was finalized with the outcome that I wanted. My only regret was not retaining Cynthia sooner. In earnest, I would recommend Cynthia to anyone that would need her services, and in fact, I already have. Please do yourself a favor...if you are in the midst of a divorce, retain Ms. Dienstag. Believe me, you will have a compassionate and unyielding fighter in your corner!

I was represented by Ms. Dienstag back in 2008 in a divorce case. I was extremely pleased with her services especially because It only took three months to get the case resolved and finalized . Eight years later I had a child support case brought upon me by my ex-wife. In this case, I utilized the ...services of another attorney, a friend of mine to minimize court and attorney fees (biggest mistake ever) it ended up costing more. (headaches and aggravation to say the least). I reached out to Ms. Dienstag once again and asked if she would represent me in this case, she happily accepted. Ms. Dienstag appealed the ruling against me (an $18,000 ruling!!!!) before the general magistrate. Ms. Dienstag was very knowledgeable, fully prepared and ready to fight on my behalf when she went before the court on my court date. needless to say, I was very relieved to know I had her on my side and fighting for my rights. Ms. Dienstag was able to reverse the ruling based on 2008 laws which are the ones that should have been applied to my case and not current laws, which were the laws the magistrate had used to come up with his ruling. I am so glad I was able to get Ms Diesntag to represent me once again, she is worth every dime…
