Jeffrey W. Gutchess

I recently had a case against a Forturne 500 company and was referred to Jeffrey Gutchess. I set up an appointment to discuss my issues and felt that he was the right attorney to assist me with my case. The case began, the summons was filed, and then unfortunately that was the last time I ever spoke ...with or heard from him again. Next thing I know, Attorney Gutchess passed my case off to another attorney in his firm. No phone call, no email, no discussion, nothing. I was shocked that I hired a lawyer who took my money and proceeded to stop working on my case without even having a conversation with me about it first! Just a disgusting betrayal to me. The case proceeded and ultimately ended with a satisfactory result. Still not a word from Jeffrey Gutchess. To add insult to injury, his firm sent me back the balance of my retainer I had sent them and the check bounced. It is now 10 days later and one week after I notified them and they have still not sent me the money. I followed up a few days later and still no money! You would think a law firm would be embarrassed to bounce a check to their client but not this one. Not a phone to apologize, nothing. I feel ashamed for the lawyer I used there who is very competent and a nice person and she needs to answer for these people. Are they going out of business? Who knows, but I have never heard of a law firm bouncing a check to a client. I think that pretty much sums this firm up. I would be very wary of hiring Jeffrey Gutchess and using this firm. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
