Biography
Michael Swinton is an experienced criminal defense attorney. Prior to establishing his law firm, he gained valuable experience as an assistant public defender at the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office, one of the most respected and well-known public defender’s offices in the country. As an assistant public defender, Mr. Swinton participated in many jury and bench trials where his clients were facing serious charges with serious consequences. He has been lead attorney while at the public defender’s office in over 1500 cases, which were resolved by dismissal, trial, or negotiated plea.
Mr. Swinton graduated with honors from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Criminology. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Florida International University College of Law. While at law school, Mr. Swinton participated in multiple clinics and served as a certified legal intern at the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office.
