I am in the early stages of a chapter 13with this attorney's office. I say that because after the initial consultation, I never heard from him again. I followed instructions as they came, but was not educated about the process, had almost nothing explained to me about what would happen or when. I ...found out as things happened. The plan keeps changing, payments keep increasing with no explanation or reason, and they give you as little information as possible. They make things seem better than they are, and before you realize what is happening it is too late. You will be out thousands of dollars and in worse shape than when you started.

Called because i was at a point where i was so in debt i had no other option but file for bankruptcy. From day one Brian was real and down-to -earth. His firm is staffed with incredible people, always available either through phone or e-mail and always happy to answer my questions. Despite my relatively high income, he suggested ways in which we could apply the "means test" to my case to enable me to qualify for Chapter 7; most of the other attorneys immediately "decided for me" that I should do a Chapter 13. My Chapter 7 case has now been successfully completed, and throughout the entire process both Mr. Cohen and his staff maintained both the professionalism and integrity that was displayed right from the initial consultation. I would wholeheartedly recommend Mr. Cohen and his firm to anyone, like me, who may not be sure whether bankruptcy is the answer for them, but who needs sound and unbiased advice to make a reasoned and well-informed decision.
