Mr. Brook was very charming at the beginning of my case but there were several red flags and I wish I had read the reviews before hiring him. He was difficult to reach on the phone, and late for almost every meeting (including depositions and court appearances). There was so much red-tape involved ...in every process that our new lawyer had to begin all over again because the information Mr. Brook charged so much to gather was no longer current. According to our new attorney, countless mistakes were made in our case which caused it to drag on with unnecessary drama and expense and he questions the skills and professionalism of this man! I believe that Mr. Brook is only concerned with making money but has the ability to make you believe that he truly cares.

I was depressed with no clue what to do in my custody battle when I initially met Scott. I walked into his office around 4:30 pm and told him the matters at hand until almost 6:30 pm during this initial consultation. After interviewing multiple attorneys and getting several quotes on what was the b...eginning of a pretty sophisticated custody battle, I ended up retaining Scott based on the confidence he gave me that there was a light at the end of the tunnel and I WOULD GET THROUGH THIS AND SEE MY CHILD AGAIN (it had been about 7 months since I had seen my child). Although things were getting nasty and we had an uphill battle due to the fact my ex and opposing counsel (her multiple attorneys) threw everything in the book at me over several years to try to take my child out of my life by hiring multiple attorneys... it did not matter. I had the law, the truth and Scott J. Brook on my side. At the end of this extensive custody battle Scott prevailed. I have been with Scott in depositions, in the court room, and even seen him outside the legal field - volunteering his time in the community. I can assure you that when Scott is your representation, you have an individual on your side that is an amazing communicator, excellent debater, great negotiator and natural leader. Scott Brook is about the almighty buck. He took on a case without fully disclosing what was required to win. He dragged the case out for more appearances. He lost files, forgot to file and did not follow up on deadlines. Passed off work to employees not qualified to do it. Was often unreachable a...nd did not return your call. Very argumentative with other attorneys and obviously did not want to reach an agreement of any sort. Gave a ballpark figure of possible cost for case and was 3 times more. Double billed. Has so many people working on case hard to follow invoice, but check it very carefully. Was very condescending when questioned. Bottom line...took a very long time to be ineffective. Would not even recommend him to my ex!! Stay away.
