Biography
Mr. Long was raised and educated in Florida. He studied Finance at the University of Florida. At UF, Mr. Long served as President of his Fraternity, Pi Kappa Phi. Additionally, he was admitted to Florida Blue Key, which is the oldest and most prestigious leadership honorary at the University. In 2009, Mr. Long earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from UF. With a passion to study law, he enrolled in law school at Nova Southeastern University. In 2012, he graduated from NSU with honors, cum laude. Mr. Long began his legal career as an associate at Michael Weinstein, P.A., where he gained valuable State and Federal defense experience. To build his trial skills, Mr. Long accepted a position in 2012 as an Assistant Public Defender in the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit in and for Broward County, Florida. During his tenure as an APD, he represented indigent clients and quickly ascended from handling misdemeanors in County Court to serious felonies in Circuit Court. Mr. Long tried numerous jury trials and handled felony cases carrying mandatory life sentences. After gaining trial experience in the public sector, he transitioned into private practice. In 2015, he accepted an associate position at a civil litigation firm. Within one year he became partner. The firm now named Long & Jean, P.A. focuses on personal injury and criminal defense. Mr. Long aggressively fights the insurance companies, and he has recovered millions for his injured clients. The key to the firm’s success is simple. Mr. Long always puts his clients' interests first and maintains diligent attorney-client communication. Mr. Long also teaches as an adjunct professor at Florida Atlantic University.
