Teresa Elizabeth Williams

Teresa Williams was born in New York City and moved to Florida when she was 14. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Administration of Criminal Justice from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Miami.

Teresa began her career as an Assistant State Attorney in Miami. She was the Division Chief of the Career Criminal Robbery Unit, and was responsible for all career criminal cases filed in Miami. She specialized in homicide and sexual battery prosecutions, while working in these elite units of the State Attorney's Office. Teresa mentored many of the current supervisors in the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office and many attorneys who are now sitting judges in Miami. Her professional affiliations are an important part of getting the best result for her clients now that she is in private practice.

Teresa left Miami-Dade County in 2003 and worked for the Statewide Prosecutor's Office. There she specialized in white collar crimes, racketeering, medicare and medicaid fraud cases. She coordinated the efforts of a successful multi-agency task force, working hands on with police and the Department of Health. Here, Teresa learned how the police think and how they work, an invaluable asset in the field.

Teresa entered into the civil arena while working for the law firm of Haliczer Pettis and Schwamm. She coordinated the defense of a 21 plaintiff case involving mold exposure against the Broward County School Board. She now lectures around the State on the subject of mold litigation. Teresa focused in general negligence as well as medical malpractice cases while working for this group of well established and respected attorneys in Ft Lauderdale.

Teresa started her own private practice, focusing on both criminal and civil litigation, in March of 2006. Our firm serves Broward, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Counties. Teresa has developed a well deserved reputation as a seasoned and aggressive litigator who fights for her clients, regardless of popular opinion.

She is a member of the Broward County Bar Association, the Florida Association of Women Lawyers, the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the League of Prosecutors, and is very active in the local chapter of the Broward Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. She volunteers at her Church through her work with the Woman's Guild, and the FOCCUS ministry, as well as being actively involved with coaching youth athletics with her husband through PAL.
