David Joseph Braun

David Braun is an experienced trial lawyer that puts his skills to work for you. David began his legal career serving as an Assistant State Attorney for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit, there he prosecuted very serious crimes as the lead Felony Trial Unit Prosecutor. In private practice The Firm represents clients in litigation matters including civil and criminal defense. Many of his cases have been featured in local as well as national news. Some of those cases include, United States of America v. Butler, alleged conspiracy charges were taken to trial, after a three week trial Attorney Braun won a jury trial verdict, NOT GUILTY, complete acquittal of all charges. State of Florida v. Stone, Defendant charged with 1st degree murder and vehicular homicide facing life in prison. A Motion to Dismiss was filed on clients behalf resulting in a dismissal of many of the charges including first degree murder. The Firm represent clients in health care fraud, medicare fraud, conspiracy, civil rights violation, federal and state drug offenses, obstruction of justice, wire fraud. The Police Benevoence Association (PBA), Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA) and other associations regularly retain Braun Cruz Law Group to represent there union members in a variety of legal matters.

The Braun Cruz Law Group obtained dismissals in Federal Court for two local Lebanese businessmen in what was designated by the federal agents as Operation Cedar Sweep. Allegations included manufacturing of cocaine and heroin. Mr. Braun filed motions to dismiss citing legal arguments prompting the government and two separate Federal District Court Judges to dismiss both a six and two count grand jury indictment respectfully.

Mr. Braun successfully defended Bahamian nationals in federal court.
Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearm and Explosives (ATF) operation entitled "Operation Smoking Gun", featured in local "Eye Witness News". Mr. Braun got all charges dropped, despite a grand jury finding that client had transported large amounts of crack cocaine to "Gator Smoke", a head shop operated by undercover government agents. Clients were also arrested for printing thousands of dollars of US currency. Motions were filed resulting in the successful negotiation and supervised release of the client.

Recently featured on the television series "American Greed" Braun Cruz Law Group represented security company for Fort Lauderdale ponzi scheme lawyer Scott Rothstein Five Star. Owners of Five Star were allegedly audio recorded agreeing to destroy documents evidencing the Scott Rothstein Ponzi Scheme. Five Star's alleged involvement included Morrocan wire transfers, money laundering through art dealers in New York, and performing said offenses with known mobster working with the coso nostra and the Gambino crime families. After the discovery was reviewed by the attorneys at the Braun Cruz Law Group, Mr. Braun successfully negotiated and reduced the charges resulting in a short term of probation for his client.

Mr. Braun has also successfully defended clients with charges of sale and transfer of automatic weapons. (DUI and BUI) Driving and boating under the influence are regularly handled. Injuries and wrongful death resulting from the negligence of another, real estate litigation, landlord- tenant, commercial evictions are also successfully handled everyday by the Firm.
