Biography
Matthew Militzok practices in the areas of toxic mold exposure. Mr. Militzok is one of Florida's leading attorneys handling mold exposure cases on behalf of tenants, condominium owners and homeowners. In addition, he handled a large volume of landlord/tenant matters, including residential and commercial landlord evictions and tenant defense cases.
In addition to his toxic mold practice, Mr. Militzok handles residential and commercial real estate transactions where he has closed hundreds of transactions. Mr. Militzok has handled commercial transactions with purchase prices up to $26 million. He has additional expertise in transactions involving shopping centers and gas stations. In addition, he handled thousands of landlord/tenant matters, including residential and commercial landlord evictions and tenant defense cases.
In addition to his real estate practice, Mr. Militzok also handles consumer and business bankruptcies in the Federal Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of Florida. In conjunction, he additionally sets up asset protection plans for clients who wish to utilize the generous exemptions for debtors available under the Florida constitution.
Mr. Militzok also defends the rights of consumers by filing civil actions in Federal Court under several Federal Statutes including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Electronic Funds Transfer Act, and the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act.
Finally, he handles a wide variety of business related transactions. He has provided counsel in closing some high-profile business purchase and sales. Prior to founding the Firm in 2002, Mr. Militzok was the general counsel for two South Florida corporations.
Mr. Militzok was selected to Super Lawyers beginning in May 2012 and every year since.
