Carmen Carla Barcinas Demapan

I was born and raised in the Northern Mariana Islands, a chain of U.S. Commonwealth located in the Western Pacific south east of Japan and North of Australia.  I come from a family of five and my father and most of my relatives have been predominantly involved in politics in the islands.  I was inspired to become an attorney by my late uncle former Chief Justice of the Northern Mariana Islands, Miguel S. Demapan.  I've learned since practicing that you have to treat clients with utmost respect and not like pieces of meat; afterall, clients are paying your bills and not the other way around.  My passions include marine wild life conservation and ocean clean ups.  I love the outdoors and enjoy canoeing in the local water ways or in the ocean as well.  You can tell I was influenced greatly by the island lifestyle, which is why I am sooo in love with the ocean blue.  I volunteer with Lawyers for Children America because I am one that feels for the children left behind and neglected.  I only try to bring some light to a very dark place.
