James Prescott Covey

Stay away from this office. They represented my grandmother, she chose them to write her will. She unfortunately passed away about a month ago. When I asked for a copy of the will on 1/16 James Covey said I would receive a copy of it. Now on 1/28 they said they cannot continue conversation with me. I...t’s giving shady business between this office and the executor of the will. They will be caught trying to edit a will after someone has passed away and the spouse is mentally incapacitated. They had someone with dementia signing legally binding documents such as POA for financial and medical decisions when he was not in his right state of mind due to dementia. BEWARE OF THIS FIRM THEY ARE OUT TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE ELDERLY!!! Melanie and Jim are sadistic people who are praying on the elderly population and lying to their family members. To the residents of Vero Beach & Stuart FL be very careful if you’re considering choosing these people.

cold calling law firms looking for work, wanting to substitute in on our cases, then rude to the person on the phone trying to figure out what the heck he wants. Must be reviewing cases in court and then contacting the attorney handling. Might have had something had he not been so rude to our staff.... Who wants to work with that and according to prior posts, not the first time.

Please do not use this attorney. Still waiting for an inheritance since 2015. You'll be lucky to get anything after all his fees he tacts on. And all the stories ur told on to why it's taking so long, so many tales I can't even begin to tell you. Please please save the heart ache and do ur research. ...

While speaking on the phone with Mr. Covey, he stated that I insulted him and proceeded to hang up on me. All I said was "yeah, right" in response to one his statements. In addition, he came across as not even wanting to answer my questions. Apparently he cannot take negative responses and is ver...y defensive. As an attorney, I would think he should be able to deal with someone making a negative response. I do not feel I was "insulting" as he stated, but should be allowed to express myself whether on the phone or in person. I do not recommend J. Covey as an attorney.
