About Hanna
Biography
Hanna was born to Pakistani family in Detroit, MI. She was primarily raised in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated from the Georgia State University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. After her graduation she decided to work at a private legal firm as a legal assistant for a few months and then she joined State court to work as a legal assistant/investigator for 1 ½ years. Since Hanna enjoyed legal profession so much, she decided to go to law school and earned her juris doctor from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law center in 2010. During her tenure at the Nova Southeastern University, Hanna was part of a mock trial and moot court team. In addition, she performed many hours of pro bono services to different legal facilities. While in law school, Hanna clerked at the Department of Homeland security, Immigration and Custom enforcement. She worked and assisted senior attorneys with national security cases pertinent to terrorism by utilizing her Arabic skills. In addition, she drafted appellate briefs, prepared motions, performed research on topics such as immigration law, humanitarian issues, international law, foreign laws, and war crimes. Moreover, she tried few multifaceted cases for administrative hearings. This experience strengthened Hanna’s commitment to helping immigrants and led her to choose a career in immigration law. This experience also led Hanna to believe that Immigration law and Criminal law go hand in hand together, due to that she decided to gain experience in criminal court. Prior to joining Cantwell and Goldman, P.A., Hanna joined Brevard State attorney’s office as an assistant state attorney. During her work period there, she tried many criminal cases and assisted victims of crimes in court proceedings.
Hanna is fluent in English, Urdu and Hindi. She can also understand Punjabi and Arabic. Hanna also enjoys experiencing new cultures and due to that she loves to travel to different countries. Thus far she has been to Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, India, and many parts of Europe. In her free time, Hanna enjoys working out, reading, cooking and home interior designing.
