I had the unique pleasure of meeting an attorney that I feel is what an attorney should be. I first saw her at my arraignment. I watched how she confidently yet with the right subtlety interacted with the other counsel. I could see her plant seeds that perhaps later she would reap. She gave me advice that would actually steer me away from retaining her as my circumstances were straight forward and the results could be obtained by letting them run their course or her "blasting them". She told me step by step what do and not accept. She offered me to call her if I had any questions along that path. She did all of this to just help someone...selflessly.
