Best Social Security Attorneys

Hired them to handle my case and they did an excellent job! Jeremy Hays and Paula were awesome and stayed in contact with me through the whole process! In the end James had to be the attorney with me for my hearing and I couldn’t have asked for better!! Paula was my rock and voice of reason! She was ...a pure ray of light through the whole thing!! Thank you for all of your help!!

FANTASTIC SOCIAL SECURITY ATTORNEY!

Attorney Richard Culbertson personally handled a Social Security Denial Appeal on my behalf. He was professional, enthusiastic, articulate, well spoken, thorough and prepared. Appearing before the administrative law judge, I was confident that Attorney Culbertson would present an outstanding case and... he exceeded expectations! As a retired Orange County Deputy Sheriff, I do not frequently write reviews and have very high standards. That being said, if you are in need of a social security lawyer, this is the attorney you need!

The paralegal is nice, however....

To the best of my knowledge, they claim they left me several messages but I only received one from a Paul as a callback. It took them a full month almost to decide whether or not they could take my case. My case has already been reviewed by multiple lawyers who have stated the arguments are excellen...t and that the ALJ did err if only the appellate courts will admit that. They seem nice yet ineffective. It should not take an entire month to let a potential client know where they stand only to deny that they can help based on their personal view that they could not prevail in court. If other lawyers feel it is a strong prevailing case, then why take the losing approach. Those lawyers work with beginning social security and appeals that have not yet been filed. I filed mine almost a year ago pro se. We need strong leaders as lawyers who bat like hell at the plate on our behalf. In effect, it isn't really that they cannot or do not want to take the case I offer, it is that it took so long to inform me whilst I could have been seeking counsel elsewhere to get the ball rolling. I'm on limited time being I'm already in line for my appeal to be heard. I simply wanted a Juris-Doctor to represent me to increase my odds perhaps of winning even more. You go to the game with your best players not just one! Their paralegal Kelly is very nice and attentive. You cannot get her much as I received several throughout my multiple calls to the firm that could barely speak English nor understand what I was saying to them. I wanted to hire them to get things moving but I did not hear back. They had my email and phone number plus mailing address (I believe). Mostly silence while I anxiously waited. You may want to go with a more rapid fire firm if you are anxious and need answers and help quickly. Otherwise, they seemed nice. I did not get to even speak to an attorney albeit I left multiple messages with their secretary. Very difficult process. All of this is my opinion. Take it with your own grain of salt.

Do NOT Recommend

I hired this firm to represent me in a social security disability case. I was initially assigned an inexperienced Immigration attorney to handle my case. SMH. Further, I was eventually granted another attorney and he FAILED to properly handle/litigate my case. He was ill prepared for the hearing even... though I asked him to send me a list of questions prior to the hearing. Btw, I lost my case after waiting 3 years for my hearing. There were other issues as well. Do NOT recommend! Note: I hired this attorney outside of Avvo.

"I endorse and highly recommend Mr. Culbertson. He has dedicated his practice to all areas of Social Security and is one of only a handful of Board Certified attorneys practicing Social Security Disability law. He's extremely knowledgeable and uses his experience to point out factors and issues in a claim that can best get a client approved. He carries himself well in hearings, and should your claim be denied, he and his expert staff, together with lawyer Sarah Fay, are well qualified to handle your appeal. Aside from all of these qualifications, he is one of the nicest people you could meet, and it is immediately obvious that he has a genuine care and concern for the well-being of all of his clients. If you are thinking about filing, or have filed and need assistance, do not hesitate to give his office a call."
