Griffith Joel Winthrop III

Griff attended Florida State University, graduating in 1984.  After serving 7 years on active duty in the United States Marine Corps, he attended the University of Florida College of Law, receiving his Juris Doctor, with honors, in 1994.  While in the Marine Corps, Griff attended Golden Gate University, graduating in 1988 with a Master’s of Science in Human Resources Management.  Griff has been a jury trial lawyer for nearly 25 years, currently practicing from the Gainesville, Florida, Office of Alvarez, Winthrop, Thompson & Storey, P.A.  He handles cases throughout the United States and focuses his practice on the litigation, resolution and trial of wrongful death and personal injury cases involving defective products, poisoning by carbon monoxide, and other toxic chemicals, from which his clients have suffered brain injury and major organ damage. Griff also handles appeals for his clients with reported cases in the federal and state courts of Florida and Georgia.

Griff is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer, licensed in Florida, Wisconsin and Georgia.  Before refocusing his practice to represent only those who have been injured, he served as panel counsel for several large insurance carriers. Griff has represented numerous corporations, to include commercial and residential real estate developers, general contractors, defense industry contractors, banks, insurance brokers, health care providers, product manufacturers, automobile dealerships, trucking companies and bus lines, both in Florida and in Georgia, in disputes involving wrongful death, personal injury, construction defect, land use, real estate, negligence, professional negligence, intellectual property, medical and product liability issues.
