Beware and Stay Away

All I can say is be weary and do not grant this Attorney carte blanch at his exorbitant fees. I was appalled to discover additional charges at runaway rates, followed by a lawsuit from this guy, who is relentless when it comes to going after his own clients, expecting them to have an endless sea of ...funds. Yes, he has many years of experience, but do not let that fool you into submission and signing of his contracts...read each and every word as his contracts are primarily designed to protect only his best interests, from my experience. I can truly say that your best bet is not to just stay away, but do your research and dont be caught up in the hype and incredibly high fees and retainers.

Unfortunately when clients have a bill that they do not want to pay they try to do anything they can to get out of paying their obligation. This particular client did not provide documents that he was required to provide on a timely basis which required our office to do much more work than would be normally necessary. The client received periodic statements reflecting the time that was spent on his case and there was nothing that he was charged with that was not previously agreed to by him. I hope he is performing better for his next Attorney who I know will not stand for a client who fails to provide required documents on a timely basis. An update to this Answer. The client contacted me recently to apologize and he paid his bill. He had hired another attorney to represent him in our fee dispute and spent a lot of money and got no where. We have parted on good terms and I wish him luck.

EXCELLENT ATTORNEY - active client

I've been associated AND a CLIENT of Gary Israel, for over a Year now (2015-2016). I can say over that length of time, he's dealt with numerous legal matters involving myself & my son (Legal Family/Domestic to Other). Cases that were, for me, the MOST important in my lifetime; involving my son! G...ary, from day 1 stood out as a man who cared and as a lawyer, overwhelmingly qualified if not, the best in this field. Period. Without question in my opinion. He advised me, initially, with legal advice, which NO OTHER lawyer had at that point (I called numerous lawyers for advice on what to do in my situation). From that moment, Gary was going to be my lawyer. I was NEVER skeptical, NEVER concerned and NEVER questioned the advice he gave me; with good reason and even more important, the RESULTS anyone in my position could've ever hoped for. Not to mention, on a few cases, RESULTS that NO ONE would've considered possible! My cases (yes, CASES...plural) were serious in nature and ranged in a varying of legal categories. EVERY SINGLE ONE, was handled with compassion, knowledge, timely & efficiently. It was obvious he had tremendous insight into the legal system and was completely about results. Verse the alternative, in which lawyers will "slow-play" for an increase in resources ($$) to be charged. NOT Gary! More importantly, if you ask me, is having a lawyer that is first and foremost a human being. Caring, understanding, truthful & forthcoming with a realistic approach. He is every bit and MORE than I can explain in words. This man, this lawyer, does more things for those in need, those who have physical & mental challenges, than anyone I have ever been associated with. He is an inspiration to his fellow man and leads by moral & ethical example. Period! I cannot say enough about Gary Israel. If you are looking for an attorney; rest assured Gary will take professional & excellent care of you. He will NOT sugar coat reality but instead, be forthcoming, honest, passionate and results driven. I am completely available for anyone who wants to speak further. I would do anything for this man, Gary Israel. I am indebted to him, I consider him a friend (to which I AM the lucky one) and a role-model. I would leave my son with him in a heartbeat if I ever needed; that comment might be the single greatest testament I could ever give anyone. Great experience having Gary Israel as my attorney. I would recommend him to anyone.

Gary Israel - an example of legal excellence and professionalism

I have hired Mr Israel at least 6 times in the past 15 years. He has always proved himself a consummate professional, and was extremely adept in the handling of my case. He was thoroughly familiar with all of the issues related to the case (having done his own, extensive research) and was just as fam...iliar with the laws and statutes regarding my specific case. Furthermore, I was treated fairly and courteously and when I had questions or concerns, Mr Israel was very prompt at returning my calls. In every case, Mr Israel was able to resolve my issue (s) favorably, and that is why I have called upon him faithfully in the past 15 years. I would highly recommend Mr Israel and have never had any complaints about him personally or professionally.

They don't come better than this

As a doctor practicing in a highly litigious society, I am often confronted by lawyers with different motives, some directed at me, most directed at my colleagues. Which is why I am always impressed when I find an attorney who stands out among his colleagues. I have personally hired Gary Israel on at... least 2 occasions (neither having anything to do with medical malpractice) and he was able to resolve my issues in a timely and highly satisfactory way. Gary was either immediately available or returned my calls in a timely manner, and charged me fairly throughout the legal processes. There were never any "side issues" or extraneous legal distractions that took up any additional time or money. Mr Israel did not file the never-ending continuances that so many other lawyers seem so fond of. Also, whether the news was good or bad, Mr Israel gave it to me in a direct, no nonsense fasion (rather than beating around the bush), so that we could proceed in the most effective and timely fasion. I would stronly recommend Gary Israel to anyone seeking a highly competent, professional attorney who is unafraid to go to trial if necessary.

Expensive but good

My experience with Mr. Israel is that he gives personal attention to his clients. He listens and then gives suggestions as to your options, but he always follows up with "It's your call." He was prompt in returning my calls or emails. Once or twice I had to remind him not to rush me and take his time... in explaining things to me as he seemed like he was in a hurry. Maybe he should not insist on doing everything and let an assistant handle things. He does all of his own paperwork and files motions right away. He even let me review the motions first to make sure he was articulating what I needed. Who does that? The only complaint I have in regard to his responsiveness is that I felt like he wanted me to settle when I didn't want too during a meeting. He wasn't listening. I had to remind him that I was paying him and he will do what I say. After we had that talk he was fine. The last thing is he is very expensive. More than any other lawyers I have used for this same case and related cases. He charges by the hour and charges for EVERYTHING! I think I would have preferred a retainer. I have spent double- nearly three retainer fees, but I got the results that I wanted.

"I endorse Gary Israel and refer clients to him because I got to observe him after working at the same firm with him about a year before I opened my own firm. He's no-nonsense, aggressive, and gets the job done. He's experienced and knows what he's doing. He's also a good person and cares about his clients. I will continue to refer divorce matters to him."
