After joining the Florida Bar in 2006, I spent my first three years in general practice law firm handling many types of civil and criminal cases, in both state and federal court.

In 2009, I joined a small and prestigious firm in Orlando and spent a year and a half handling complex business litigation and consumer protection cases.

I started my own practice in 2011 because I wanted to put my skills and experience to work for those members of our community who cannot afford the high cost of an ivory tower law firm.

My mission is to provide high quality and honest legal representation to my clients while working with them to make my services affordable.

In addition to my work as an attorney, I am also a Certified Circuit Civil and Appellate mediator.

I am a husband and a father, and my wife and I are both small business owners in the Winter Park community.

I would be honored to discuss your case and to have the opportunity to share my skills and experience with you.  The Peterson Law Firm, P.A. is here to help when you need it.

Verdict JUST-IN: Peterson is ACES
Top notch would be a modest rating of Justin Peterson. From my very first consultation, in which I was overwhelmed with unfamiliar jargon, the rapport felt familiar, established, and trustworthy. When times arise that someone may need to seek counsel, there are so many criteria from which we can judge; from experience, to reputation and referrals, to reviews... all of which are merely table stakes. A great lawyer has more than all check marks on the pro side of the ledger, in which we attempt to measure integrity, analytical skills, communication skills, judgment, research skills, responsiveness, etc. We put all of our trust into this individual , relying on them to extrapolate all the legal theory and explain it to us in lamens terms, as well as to have our fingers crossed that they will be as diligent behind the scenes as they are on the front line. Whether we choose this person at random, or after extensive research , we are always taking a gamble as to how well they will represent our best interest...will they charge us reasonably?, will they be readily available to answer all of our questions , and follow through?, will they be an effective liaison for us and the opposition? These are all questions that go through our mind at some of life's most challenging times and when we find a lawyer that is in every sense of the word an ally for us, they deserve the recognition. They are the un-sung heroes of the judicial world, and the undeserving punchline of many jokes and stigmas...but I can say first hand, I do solemnly swear that Justin Peterson is a true class act. His interpersonal skills, combined with his perseverance and tenacity, coupled with his ability to provide levity when needed, and transparency in every step of the process, serve as a reminder of just how important it is to have a great lawyer, someone who is so resilient and who strategizes based on someone's individuals needs . He exceeded my expectations, and I am forever grateful to have him on my side. Few other careers possess a comparability ability to impact someone's life the way a lawyer does. I'm certainly happy to have had him represent me.

Very pleased with Justin's work on a business contract
I hired Justin to draft a business agreement for loaning funds to a contractor to flip homes and split the proceeds. It seemed like a fairly straight forward endevour---I provide the capital equity, contractor provides the sweat equity, we equally split the proceeds. It turned out to be much more complicated than I thought. However, I appreciate how Justin broached the subject. He was not debative regarding what would be involved. He politely suggested it was going to take more work than I thought. And it turned out he was correct. Which is why I decided to pay him above what we initially agreed on once I saw how much work was involved because I felt he had earned it. In sum, I appreciate how collaborative it was working with him. I came in with some misconceptions. He patiently allowed me to figure that out myself during the process. So I was not only pleased with the final result but also the process of how we arrived there. I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking help with business contracts and agreements.
