CASE 1: I originally hired Karen Yochim to handle my divorce. Pretty much went off without a hitch but my ex and I had already came to an agreement so alls she had to do was file the appropriate paper work. CASE 2: I paid 1500 dollars for her to draw a will for me. My only question was about some ...jet skis I owned. She didn't know the answer. Approx. 2 months went by, hearing nothing, I called to find out the status of my will, nothing had been done. I complained to her associate and was assured she would contact me. No calls, no emails! When I hired her for my will, I had also hired her for my fathers remaining estate which only consisted of money left in a bank account as well as in his VA account. When it came to my will after 8 months she never even started it. I still never got my will and she finally admitted she owed me a refund and issued it. CASE 3: My fathers estate. This was total negligence in every sense of the word. It has been 18 months. At this point there was no backing out. She completely filed incorrect information regarding the amount and what accounts it was in. Now the bank won't release the money because of her complete negligence!!! I nor my sister can claim that money without starting all over because the judge awarded money based on the information she filed. So now the money will set in the bank for years till it goes unclaimed and then, maybe then, I will be able to collect and pay my dads debts upon his passing. I could start all over again with another lawyer but the awful experience I have had with this firm has held me back. Do not use this law firm unless you want the run around. Finally after sending yet another email, yet another phone call I told the firm I was contacting the Florida Bar I got a phone call. Each time I had to go head to head with this firm would lead me into tears reminding me of the loss of my father. Shame on them. They call themselves a law firm! Do not use the law firm , Alba & Yochim in Gainesville, Fl. There are too many others to choose from.

I hired Ms. Yochim to represent me in my divorce. Most of the issues in my settlement had already been worked out with my ex, but I didn't want to file without help. Ms. Yochim thought of many details that we had not considered. Her estimate for total cost was pretty spot on and very competitive. Oth...er lawyers I talked to were all about 'winning' something in the divorce. It was a relief to find someone that actually listened and seemed to be concerned about the outcome for my children. That said, if my situation was different I am sure she would have scrapped as hard as I needed her to. If I have another family law issue to deal with I will reach out to her again.
