I recently joined Fine, Farkash and Parlapiano, P.A. after retiring from the bench after more than 22 years as a judge. I have heard cases in all areas of law...everything from civil traffic citations to first degree murder cases. I also heard civil, family and probate cases throughour the six counties of the Eighth Judicial Circuit of Florida. I served as an Alachua County Court Judge, as a Circuit Judge and as Chief Judge.
In addition, I taught other judges for a number of years in the New Judges' College, both the County Court Educational Conference and the Circuit Educatonal Conference, as well as in the Advanced Judicial College and the National Judicial College.
I am the recipient of the Pro Bono Award for the 8thJudical Circuit for 1990, a former adjunct professor at the Levin College of law, a Justice Teaching Volunteer, and I was the Mentor Coordicnator for a number of years.
I am published in the Journal of Child Custody in an article on Relocation Issues in Child Custody Cases.
Before being elected as a judge, I spent five years trying cases in the Public Defender's Office and five years as a sole practitioner in a general trial practice.
In my free time, I am an avid dressage competitor...and I am writing a novel.

An excellent judge, an excellent lawyer, and a wonderful person.
I have known Martha Lott as a lawyer, as a judge, and as a friend. As a lawyer and a judge, she is/was always prepared, well informed, patient, open minded when a judge, and a vigorous advocate as a lawyer! She is the perfect combination of brains, heart, and guts! Hire her! You will be glad you ...
"I have know Martha Lott for almost thirty years. For more than twenty of those years she was a circuit court judge in the Eighth Judicial Circuit of Florida. I have appeared in front of her more than one hundred times. As a judge she was extremely knowledgeable of the law and very detail oriented. The experience and contacts she gained being a judge will easily translate into a great benefit for her clients in the private practice of law. Without reservation, I highly endorse this lawyer."
