When the judge handed down his sentencing, I have to say that I was shocked. From what I hear I was not the only stunned person in that courtroom. I never expected to walk out of there. Nothing could have prepared me or my husband for what we witnessed in that courtroom. I watched the four kindhearted people from your firm turn in to voracious wolverines. You guys were prepared for every negative issue that was mentioned, and you stopped them cold. There is so much more that I could say, but space does not permit it. You have renewed my faith in God because he surely guided you in your handling of my case. The Flaherty Defense Team represented me in my case. They explained in detail every option that I had, and what the possible outcomes would be. From the first time I spoke to them on the phone to... the last time I stepped in their office I was always at ease and never felt pressured to make any decisions except for what I was 100 % comfortable with. I had two cases, both misdemeanors. Both of which I was falsely accused that were related together. We all know the reputation of false arrests in Okaloosa County. My first arrest was proven to be false, bogus, completely erased and proven wrong on behalf of law enforcement. My second arrest , was ...brought on by the same person, and carried out like a warning for my arrest, which I brought to the attention of my lawyers I had retained regarding my last case. Upfront demanded money to even touch the case before the warrant was issued. Would not help me, no payment plans, straight cash. Upon discussing that, I was yelled at by Tim saying that they had other felony cases that were more important and that I was basically rude for interrupting them. Which brings me to my next point, a case is a case no matter to what degree it is. A paying client is a paying client. I ended up taking out TWO loans and paid in full for two cases so that I could get my nightmare over with. Which brings me to my next case. My second case was a complete lie and an accusation brought on by the same person, keep in mind, and I was completely innocent, in fact there was NO evidential support what so ever which was my main point to be addressed. Not only did Tim and Shawn happily take my money promising to shed light on all the horrible things the accuser was guilty of doing himself, they stated that we would go to trial no problem if he COULDN'T get the case dropped. I sent a lot of files regarding my case to them but heard nothing for weeks. Called their office , but no returned calls from the lawyers themselves. I was completely in the dark not knowing what was going on. Finally I was brought in to their office and was completely AMBUSHED by Tim, Shawn, and Brandy while she took notes on our meeting. My only concern was nothing was going on and I had no clue what they were doing with my money. Tim then told me that not only will my case not get dropped, that they did nothing with what all I had sent them, and that they upset the state with defending me on the last case, so that I would basically have to take the fall for this case, on behalf of them, or I go to trial.Mother witnessed this. I contacted the state attorney myself then explaining how wrong this all was. I contacted Judge Maney and wrote letters proving how the accuser was guilty. I showed facts, proof, reports, everything. There was no question on this total unjust situation. The day before court Shawn told me there was NO WAY I was going to get a program, that I would have to take whatever offer they give me but that in any way it would be adjudication withheld. They were wrong. I was given a pretrial diversion program. (So much for believing in your clients huh?) Before I accepted I asked if I could go to trial before taking the fall for a crime I didn't commit. This is what really upset me. THEY SAID NO. That they all suggested I take the offer and not go to trial. Then in court they told me to "Be quiet" and tried to take a no-contact order off my case which I did NOT want them to do. I immediately objected and demanded it be kept on for my best interest. Wrong wrong wrong of them completely. That was a civil matter decision and not their business. After all this money taking, stringing along, power tripping, and lazy lack there of "lawyering" experience I had to suffer torture for MONTHS-I am in a program for something I didn't DO paying unnecessarily because they did what? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. I wouldn't suggest them to any normal working class citizen who has loved ones to support or a career or life to manage. They will tell you lies to get your money, push you aside if your case isn't "big enough-felony, etc.to boost their reputation status", and they will interject in personal matters, lie about helping you with an expungement. I defended myself during this entire case and did ALL the leg work for myself. You are better going with a public defender.
