Michelle Anchors is a partner with the law firm of Keefe, Anchors, Gordon & Moyle, P.A., which has offices in Fort Walton Beach, Destin, Defuniak Springs, and Tallahassee, Florida. Ms. Anchors is a graduate of Vanderbilt University (B.A. 1987) and the University of Florida College of Law (J.D. 1991).
Following her graduation from law school, Ms. Anchors served as a law clerk to Justice Parker Lee McDonald on the Florida Supreme Court. She subsequently served as Deputy General Counsel to former Governor Lawton Chiles and was a member of his staff when he served in the U.S. Senate.
Ms. Anchors recently served as the Chair of the Committee for a Sustainable Emerald Coast, a member of the Board of Directors for Ft. Walton Beach Medical Center, and as a member of the University of West Florida Advisory Council. In 2005, she served as President of the Greater Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce. She has also served as the former Chair of the Okaloosa County School Readiness Coalition and as Vice-President of Main Street Fort Walton Beach. As a member of the Jr. League of the Emerald Coast, she served as Chair of the Gulfview Hotel Preservation Committee.
Ms. Anchors received the Florida Children’s Forum Leadership Award in 2002, and has been honored by the Young Lawyers of the Florida Bar with the Florida Public Service Award. In 1997, she was named the Guardian Ad Litem Volunteer Attorney of the Year. She is also an active member of St. Simon’s Episcopal Church. She enjoys long distance open water swimming and backpacking with her family.
