With his family tree partially rooted in the City of Tallahassee, Attorney Mutaqee Akbar has an innate and sincere compassion for the protection of its population. Son of notable psychologist Na’im Akbar, Attorney Akbar’s expectations for himself have always been set high, a fact that has allowed him to be successful in his endeavors and practice.
An alumnus of Atlanta, Georgia’s Morehouse College, Attorney Akbar graduated cum laude in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. Pursuing an interest in law, Attorney Akbar moved to South Florida and enrolled in the University of Miami School of Law where he would again graduate cum laude in May of 2004.
Attorney Mutaqee Akbar’s prowess in education, however, hardly speaks to his legal experience or proficiency. He began serving the Tallahassee region’s residents as a summer law clerk in a local firm in 2002. Since his first taste of the legal field as a clerk, Attorney Akbar has participated in the 11th, 15th, and 17th Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s office of Miami, West Palm Beach, and Ft. Lauderdale Florida. Also while attending law school Attorney Akbar served on the Moot Court Board, and as the President of the Black Law Student Association and Vice President of the Southern Region of the Black Law Student Association.
After valuable work experience in the City of Miami, Attorney Akbar migrated back to his roots in Tallahassee to protect the justice, respect, and freedom of its inhabitants. Unwavering in his vow to safeguard the morals of the community, Attorney Akbar is available 24 hours a day, and offering affordable rates and payment plans for the entirety of Tallahassee’s population.
