Diane is a native North Floridian who grew up in Gainesville and attended both UF and FSU, ultimately receiving her bachelor’s degree in Classics from Florida State. Her original career plan was to become an archaeologist, but by the time she finished her undergraduate degree, she had realized that her love for research, writing, and tenacious argument was more applicable to the practice of law. As a student at Florida State University College of Law, she clerked for judges at the First District Court of Appeal and the Third Circuit Court, served as an executive editor on FSU’s Journal of Land Use and Environmental Law, and graduated with her J.D. cum laude.
Diane started her legal career as an insurance defense associate in Jacksonville, investigating and defending claims from inception to also maintained a solo practice as an appellate attorney and in that capacity made winning arguments to both the First and Second District Courts of Appeal. She accepted a position with a nationwide Social Security disability practice as a traveling attorney and spent three years representing over 700 claimants in their disability hearings before administrative law judges in Jacksonville and surrounding areas. In 2017, she joined Harrell & Harrell, and is delighted to be able to bring her hard-work, experience, skills and knowledge to assist her clients in obtaining the Social Security benefits to which they are entitled.
Diane is a member of the Florida Bar, the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association, and the Jacksonville Bar. She has been happily married for 25 years to her husband Dan, and they have three daughters. Her hobbies include Crossfit, reading, history, cooking, travel, and enjoying Florida’s beautiful outdoors. Diane is a devoted and loyal alumna of FSU’s law school and classics department but still bleeds UF orange and blue on college game days.
