We live in a time period when our nation has drifted from its moorings. The result has led in part to a crisis in business practices. Historically, Lawyers were active participants in the Jewish faith or active participants in the Christian faith. Those lawyers operated on the basis of moral and traditional teachings. As the face of the business community has become more secular, the practice of law has drifted into big business, viewing clients more as commodities than individuals in need of help.
It is important for a lawyer to ask himself: “What am I doing with my God given talent to promote the best interest of my client”? The answer does not always come quickly but the question remains the same for each client. Each client has a unique need and for some, the answer may not be a quick dissolution of past affairs. Divorce is one solution. It is a final solution, to be approached with deep care on the part of the client and his or her lawyer.
