Mr Bernard handled the closing on a couple of my properties just over 5 years ago and he appeared professional and respected. My son used him recently and had a terrible experience. He was sold the wrong property on his contract and it all had to be corrected. Him and his wife had just lost their dau...ghter and these mistakes put alot of added stress onto them. My buyer recently hired them fired them in favour of a lady in Fernandina. We used the new lawyer and it was a great expertly round. All office staff were polite, professional and punctual. I was asked by the sellers of our new property to call Mr a Bernard as they had no luck getting a return phone call. I spoke to an abrupt t desk lady that told me she’d ask mr Bernard to call me back. When I politely reiterated that he hadn’t returned my sellers call, she stated that he always returns calls and he wouldn’t do that. I responded by saying “ I’m not a liar, neither are the smiths, he did not return their message! I asked if I could get her name, she replied” no you cannot, you can hold!” I was put on hold for several minutes before Sam came on the line. He said it wasn’t necessary or me to call Mr Bernard a liar!!!!! I explained I had simply said I didn’t lie… nothing about Bernard!! Sam was apologetic and said he’d talk to the office girl. Within a few minutes a very rude Bernard called me. His stand on the situation was she was Ruffe to me because I was rude to her!!!! Wow! I was with my sellers when about 20 mins later he called my sellers and told them he didn’t want me in his office; although I wasn’t rude or lied! Ironically, Ed had already discussed and reached out to a new lawyer. The sellers had already given mr smith some money and didn’t want to lose it but we’re more than happy to change! It’s very disturbing when things like this happen. I would give no stars if that was possible! All round terrible experience and would not recommend this firm!

Hired Larry Bernard to make a correction to a deed. The expectation was that he would reinstate the Warranty Deed he did for me in 2012 and that it be qualified through his title company. For $350 he did a Quitclaim unqualified deed that I could have done myself. Back in the day Larry was a good law...yer now it's all about the money. If you're looking for a good real estate lawyer this is not the place to go. Do yourself a favor and find somebody else, you've been warned.
