Shawn Anthony DeVries

Shawn DeVries’ professional accomplishments represent the diverse knowledge, skills and abilities he has acquired on his professional journey. DeVries attended and graduated from Valencia Community College (AS), University of Central Florida (BS), NOVA Southeastern University (MBA) and Florida Coastal School of Law (Juris Doctor). In the hospitality industry, he worked for Hawthorne Suites, Walt Disney World, Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association, and Hyatt Corporation. Shawn DeVries transition into the law industry began as a Certified Legal Intern with Florida Coastal School of Law Housing Rights Clinic followed by a second internship at Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, Inc. Armed with his education and hospitality experience, an entrepreneurial spirit and determination to succeed, DeVries opened the DeVries Law Firm at the end of 2012. DeVries honors and recognitions begin with the Hospitality Student Scholarship from Central Florida Hotel & Lodging Association in 2005 and was quickly followed with recognition as a Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Manager of the Quarter in 2006. In 2007, as a recipient of the Iris D. Larson Award, Shawn DeVries demonstrated the qualities of selfless spirit of service and leadership in his work experience. DeVries earned two awards at Florida Coastal Law School 1st Place in the Advanced Legal Writing Research Poster Competition in May 2011 and the Pro Bono Honors Award in May 2012.
