"Disappointed and Let Down at Every Step"

"All Talk and No Action – Yet Still Expensive" Mr. Berger struggled to get my appeal for long-term disability approved before I obtained Social Security Disability Insurance. I spent two years completing the SSDI process which meant I had no income during that time. "Mr. Berger did not meet expecta...tions." As soon as I dismissed Mr. Berger I successfully got the LTD appeal approved and had my benefits restored within 30 days by myself.

Find a better lawyer. There are plenty of good ones

He told me I would never get approved for Disability and he did almost nothing at all. I did all the work. I got all the med records. I arranged evals with specialists on my own and got them to prepare reports. I talked to retired SS Disability judges who told me I could go back 3-4 years. He told me... I could not. AJ hearing. He said nothing. Did nothing. In presented my case, answered questions of judge. Was approved and got the 3-4 years or arrearage also. So my payout was quite large. Which meant he got a huge percent. He was so excited $$$$.. But did no work to earn that money. Just kept telling me I would be denied and did not work to get evidence to prove. I did my own research, got others to help me. He is a parasite, lazy and makes money off other's misfortunes. Win some, lose some. He makes money.

Short and long term disability

I was terminated while at Brooks rehab. My short term disability was stopped. He had my short term disability reinstated. So my long term disability would not be affected.

Excellent Long Term Disability Appeals Attorney

Mr. Berger is an excellent disability appeals attorney. He appealed my case and obtained the back pay the company owed me as well as having my monthly benefits reinstated. I highly recommend him. ...

Superb Social Security/Disability Attorney

Erik Berger successfully represented me in obtaining Social Security Disability benefits and in my appeal of a denial of long-term disability benefits by insurer Liberty Mutual. Mr. Berger is very knowledgeable about Social Security/disability law, and he was always very straightforward and realistic... when setting out the best approach for my circumstances. I was very confident that he had my best interests in mind, and I would highly recommend Mr. Berger to others seeking counsel on disability law. Mr. Berger not only obtained SSDI benefits for me, but also successfully negotiated a settlement with my LTD benefits insurer on my behalf.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
