Anticlimactic would not recommend!

I was the most impressed the day I retained Troy's council. I was the least impressed the day of the trial, 6 months later, after numerous appearances, 9 total. It was a steady decline from the start to the end. I knew I made a mistake the very first court appearance where Troy was late for a 9AM hea...ring. I understand they can have more than one case, but notifying a client does not take much email, call, or a text message. Having a client wonder if the attorney they just hired will show is not a good first impression. I routinely work late nights servicing clients of mine in other timezones like PST. If I can be there by 9AM, my attorney should be as well. On other appearances I was there consistently before Troy, as were other attorneys. There was no communication, I never had a single phone call or email returned. I do not feel Troy took this matter seriously or put in any effort. Maybe Troy did not like me, and his performance reflected such. I was blown away by the prosecutors impressive performance ( I wish I hired the prosecutor ) and completely let down by Troy's lack luster performance. It seemed as if Troy was asleep. The prosecutors took an interest approach and strategy that Troy was completely unprepared to counter. Troy continued with the approach we had discussed prior to trial, despite the prosecutor going in another direction. I some what expected to lose, but not how the case was lost. I feel there were many chances the case could have been won, but Troy made no effort. Even the penalties assessed were almost to the maximum, for a first time offense. No effort was made to request a reduction. Troy failed to advise on potential outcomes. I was assigned a fine beyond community service, bail, other expenses, and hardships incurred. No effort was made to get an extension on the fee I was not expecting, as Troy sent his partner for the last appearance. Where I found out about a fine, I had 30 days to pay. I was never warned I might be subject to a fee, in addition to all the rest. I equate Troy to an expensive babysitter. I do not feel he was effective at all, or made things any better. I strongly feel I could have appeared myself, as I have done many times before on civil traffic infractions, and ended up with at least the same outcome if not potentially less. There are many other issues I will not go into detail on. If you are a professional, a business owner, and an individual with a clean criminal record, I strongly recommend shopping around. I really had such high hopes being about the same age, both business owners, etc. Though I cannot express enough that Troy did not take this matter seriously. Troy put in no effort, unlike that of the over worked prosecutor. Who clearly took the matter serious, and spent time coming up with a unique approach, that caught Troy off guard, and Troy never countered. Thus the case was lost, but not lost in any way I thought we would lose. I thought Troy would fight for me, and make my case, or make some effort. Which I do not feel he did. I believe if anyone obtained a copy of the court recording, they would feel the same. I was not impressed with Troys performance in court the day of the trial which we lost, or at any time leading up to the trial. Beyond the initial meeting, first impression! Troy let me down! Despite telling me I did not have to worry after I had hired him, as that was his job. I worried the whole time. The case has been closed now for months and its still effecting me. I have issues sleeping as it bothers me so much, and major family issues. Thankfully due to Troy's poor performance, I may have up to 2 years for an appeal due to ineffective assistance of counsel. I just have to get to a point where I can afford such financially as this has been devastating at at time my business was already struggling. I hired Troy in part due to not being able to afford other council. Which I am paying for, but you do not have to! Choose another attorney!

very good experience

I couldn't have been more satisfied with my experience. Troy was very quick to respond to the situation I was in, he made me more aware of the facts that were going on, and gave me piece on mind that all of the correct steps were being taken to resolve an urgent situation in regards to the terminatio...n of my probation. He was able to speak with me in person promptly, and filed all necessary paperwork within that day, resulting in me not having to go to court or risk arrest. He kept me informed on what was going on, was very professional and polite, and I felt in very good hands knowing that he was on top of the situation. Something I thought would be going on for several weeks was settled in less than one week, with the best possible outcome. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an attentive and proactive lawyer.

"I worked with Troy Webber in the same courtroom for over seven months. We had daily interaction with one another while he was an Assistant Public Defender and I was an Assistant State Attorney. We tried several jury trials and non-jury trials against each other. Troy always impressed me with the level of preparation he put into his cases, his ability to analyze legal issues quickly, the rapport he developed with his clients and juries, and his overall level of professionalism. I have interacted with many defense attorneys during my time as a prosecutor, and Troy stands out as one of the best."
