Biography
Michael Atter is a 1979 graduate of the Florida State University College of Law. From June, 1979 to August, 1981, he was an Assistant State Attorney, prosecuting felony, misdemeanor and juvenlie cases. Since August, 1981, he has been in private practice, with an emphasis in Plaintiff's Personal Injury, Medical Malpractice, Family Law and Criminal Law. He is a member of the Florida Bar, the Jacksonville Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the Florida Justice Justice Associaion. He has been active in civic and charitable causes in the Greater Jacksonville Area, having served on the Board for the Greater Jacksonville Area USO, is past President of the Jacksonville Jaycees and the Civic Round Table, and he is presently the Board Chair for the Five STAR Veterans Center, which provides residential housing, mental health counseling and vocational and educational opportuniites to homeless veterans of the United States Armed Services. Over the years, he has recovered millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements for his clients.
