April Renee Geer

I met April Geer in March of 2016 after I had retained the firm Gillis Way & Campbell to represent me in an international custody case. A Hague Convention. April was part of my legal team. Due to the international aspect of these cases they are done at an expedited speed. We only had weeks to prepare... for a trial that’s outcome would decide the fate of my five-year-old son and myself. We began communicating through text and email because I lived hours from her office. They were the only firm within hundreds of miles that would take on my difficult case. April worked tirelessly as I sent her years of correspondence and countless pages of information. Many of the documents were in a foreign language. Most of this information was so personal that I had never shared it with family members and April was very kind and understanding. I had been in an abusive marriage and there was a chance my young child could be sent back to live in Honduras. I can’t imagine the pressure she must have felt knowing that I was depending on her to help keep my family together. She never showed it, was always one step ahead, and prepared to win. She answered every call or text I sent promptly and to say she was just professional would be an understatement. April fought for me and with me through the hardest time in my life. She is smart, caring, and tough as nails. We won my case and because of her hard work our biggest worries these days are how to occupy a rainy afternoon. Five stars are not enough.
