In October 2014, I made an error in judgment, which would later prove to be a hard lesson learned in life. I was at an eating establishment, which also sold alcoholic beverages. I had been working all day and part of the night and wanted to take time to relax and enjoy a bite to eat and get a drink. ...I sat at the bar area of the restaurant and I later learned the bartender was also the owner of the establishment. I ordered my food and the bartender and I engaged in pleasant conversation. I had a couple of drinks and the bartender advised me that the place closed at 10:00pm, which was just a few minutes away. He then asked me to come to his house for a night cap. He said his house was just a couple of miles down the road, which was close to where I was staying. I accepted and within a few minutes we left. We arrived at his house and was greeted by his girlfriend, who was holding their infant child. She left the room and he fixed me a drink. I drank part of the drink and felt dizzy. I felt as if the drink had been drugged. I said something to him about putting drugs in my drink and he became angry. Next thing I know he had a gun in his hand screaming at me. I was able to call 911 from my cell phone because the emergency phone number is on the front of my phone. I was in fear for my life and knew I had to leave the residence. I exited the house and made it to my vehicle parked out front. To get out of harm's way I drove about a quarter of a mile down the road and parked in an empty parking spot in a Park. I was there for only a few minutes when police officers arrived. I tried to explain to them what had happened. The officers arrested me and placed me in jail for driving under the influence.
