also known as Mary Kate Hashemi, Mary Culp
Mary is a Savannah native and alumni of the first graduating class of Savannah Law School. She joined Spiva Law Group, P.C. in 2015 to pursue her passion for protecting plaintiffs' rights and providing access to our justice system to those community members who need it most.
Her practice is limited to catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases. She handles complex litigation, including tractor-trailer collisions and premises liability cases.
Mary strives to ease the stress of litigation for her clients who have experienced traumatic and catastrophic events. She prides herself on communicating every step of the way with her clients so that they can focus on healing while she carries the stress for them.
Mary is admitted to the State Bar of Georgia and to practice before all state courts, including the Georgia Court of Appeals and Georgia Supreme Court. She also has a federal practice and is admitted in the United States District Court, Southern District of Georgia.
She is a member of the Savannah Bar Association, its Young Lawyers Division, the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, and the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers.
Mary volunteers as a coach for Savannah Law School's and Islands High School's Mock Trial Teams and as a Certified Civil Mediator at the Savannah Mediation Center.
Prior to law school, Mary worked as a News Producer at WSAV, where she earned an Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Regional Newscast in 2012. She uses her journalism background to investigate her clients' cases fully, communicate effectively with witnesses, and Mary has a strong motion practice, as she puts her writing experience to work for her clients.
During law school, Mary participated in the Mock Trial Team as President, Coach, and Competitor. She placed Second in the annual Keenan's Kids Foundation Closing Argument competition in her second year of law school. The competition is held every year in Atlanta and hosts students from every Georgia law school.
Mary is an excellent attorney who will provide you with expert legal counsel.
