I couldn't possibly be more grateful that I found Mr. Schachter!! His professionalism, honesty and knowlegde of the law was far beyond expectations. Family law battles are one of the most difficult and terrifying things you ever have to face as a parent. My case was especially scary as I was battling... a very deceitful person who committed fraud and perjury in order to legitimate my child without me even knowing. Even worse this person had threatened to intentionally put my child in harmful situations proving that he did not have the mental wellness to care for a child. Through this extremely stressful case I felt very safe knowing that Mr. Schachter was representing me and was willing to fight as hard as I was to protect my child. When I first came to his office he was in a different firm, when he left that firm he felt that his clients had been over charged by the previous firm. He actually took the time to sit down with each of his clients and go over the invoices and highlight any charges that he felt were unfair so that we could be refunded. I was completely blown away at his honesty and genuine concern. He shows exemplary qualities when dealing with other attorneys on the phone and in the courtroom. We were able to reverse the legitimation and finally have a hearing in the proper jurisdiction so that I could voice my concerns and fears of the danger my child would be in if she were ever alone with her biological father. The outcome of our hearing was supervised visitation and when the opposing attorney asked how long those would take place the judge responded permanently!! This outcome was extraordinary and I can't thank my attorney enough for all of the long hours and the hard work he put into helping me protect my child. If you ever need legal advise he is definitely the person you want on your side!

I called David Schachter's office after reading phenomenal reviews about his service, I was skeptical but I was in a dire situation over losing custody of my child so I hoped the reviews were accurate. They couldn't have been more true! A little background; without my knowledge, my ex had an emergenc...y court hearing, misled the judge to believe very false accusations against me to obtain temporary full custody. By the time I was served papers and told I know longer could have my child, I had 10 days to find a lawyer to defend me at a temporary hearing and help get my child back. To find a lawyer to take on your case in 10 days is an almost impossible feat, David had a full schedule and suggested several lawyers for me to contact. He called me every evening for 3 days to talk about my case and check to see if I found a lawyer. He ended up taking my case and he worked late and on the weekend to prepare for it. He was thorough, he answered all my questions, he prepared me for everything, and most of all he restored a sense of security in me that had been taken away. At my hearing he was incredible, he proved that my ex was lying and had unjustly abused the legal system to gain custody. I was awarded full custody for a month straight and then return to joint until a later trial. Before we could even go to mediation, my ex fired his lawyer, agreed to give me full custody and tripled my child support. I can honestly say that none of this would have happened without the dedication, hard work, and compassion of David Schachter. This man will fight for you; he sincerely puts his heart into his work and the results are evident.

Every once in awhile, you find a lawyer whose phones don't immediately switch off at 4:59. From the start of my case to the finish, David has been there to answer any questions I have had and made himself available when necessary, not by the time of day. He advised me of every law I would need to k...now pertaining to my case, and kept me well informed of court dates and other steps along the way. I live in Statesboro an hour from Savannah. Before choosing an attorney for my civil custody issues I did a thorough search starting in my local area. Unfortunately, I came up with little confidence in those available in my area. My case was a unique case that would be very difficult for everyone inv...olved and required great strength and knowledge. My ex-partner had a long history of terroristic & abusive behavior and actually felt most comfortable in court where he spent most of his adult life with two ex-wives and his estranged children. If I ever need to hire an attorney again, I will rehire David. I will also recommend him to anyone that needs an attorney. I hired Mr. Schachter for a Contempt case. When I began my search for an attorney I looked at reviews for other attorneys and those submitted by Mr. Schachter's prior clients,... and I chose to retain David. He is very knowledgeable, diligent, and researches in depth when preparing for court.
