By far the BEST attorney you could ask for

First and foremost, it should speak to the caliber and level of mastery an attorney has when he is always busy. Some attorneys have an abundance of time. David does not. He is busy, he is sought after and for very good reason - He is the best you will find. My ex-wife and I divorced in 2015. We l...ived in Virginia at the time of marriage and separation and she moved down to Georgia while pregnant with my twin boys. I still live in Virginia. As anyone can imagine, the scenario I just painted for you proves to be a very difficult situation. When I hired my divorce attorney here in Virginia to handle my divorce...it went terribly. The attorney I hired buried me and didn't do anything to fight for my rights as the husband OR the father. Because my ex moved to Georgia, the custody and child support shifted from Virginia to Georgia. I needed someone who would advocate for me. I needed someone who understood what rights I have as a father and who would be fair and reasonable. I haven't asked for anything crazy, I haven't sought out to ruin my ex-wife's life...I simply want to be a father to my kids. That is all. David understands that. He takes what you say seriously. He is one of the few genuine attorneys out there that cares about his clients. He gives you the straight line. He doesn't sugar coat things and he doesn't give you false hopes. He will clearly define the requirements, what your options are and what he can do to maximize the options you have. And I will tell you this: When you are sitting in a mitigation room...across the table from your ex-wife and her attorney - there is no one else you want on your side of the table. I promise. David doesn't play around with your time or your money. His team, specifically Lisa, ensures that things get done in a timely manner. Keep in mind, David is a one man army...so sometimes that time frame isn't as quick as a major firm with 17 attorneys and 45 admin assistants - but what he lacks in work force he makes up for in follow-through and expertise. Unfortunately for me, I am going to need an attorney for the next 18 years. Fortunately for me, I have David as an attorney..so I am not worried about much.

Honestly

David is hard working! He is smart, he is compassionate, and he balances a no-nonsense attitude with the patience needed to deal with an emotionally affected, hands-on client like me. I don't have 9+ years of interactions with family law - Meeting David was the first time an attorney didn't patroni...ze me and asked me what I needed/wanted in terms of child custody, visitation, and support rather than deciding those things for me. He advised me as to what was reasonable, what I needed to be prepared to compromise on, and I knew from the get-go I was willing to listen to him because I knew he was listening to me.

Top Quality Representation

David was quite a surprise for us when we first began working with him. He immediately made it easy to trust his legal advice; his thoroughness includes a keen anticipation of the other side's countermoves, and put us in good position to be successful at every step of the process. What impressed us... more was his accessibility and his candor about how things work, letting us know that there are some things are seem "sure" things while tempering our expectations with reminders that you never know what may go on in court or when meeting a judge. He knew very well how far he could go with certain case-related details in court and without testing the judge, and he was adept at deciding what to include and what to withhold during our proceedings. As an example of David's expertise and skill, we had one particularly damaging video evidence that would have devastated the other side. Despite the power of the story this video told, we were able to secure our success quickly without even mentioning it. David is not a lawyer who is simply trying to win. Despite his caseload, he was always clearly aware of our case and its details, and made us feel like he was completely focused on our and had our best interests in mind. Furthermore, I'm not sure he sleeps, considering the lateness of the hours which we would have phone meetings to discuss the case. In short, he works very hard, is very skilled, and very passionate about this area of the law. He is worth the investment.

Non-Stop Amazing Attorney and a Good Person.

I live in Statesboro an hour from Savannah. Before choosing an attorney for my civil custody issues I did a thorough search starting in my local area. Unfortunately, I came up with little confidence in those available in my area. My case was a unique case that would be very difficult for everyone inv...olved and required great strength and knowledge. My ex-partner had a long history of terroristic & abusive behavior and actually felt most comfortable in court where he spent most of his adult life with two ex-wives and his estranged children. With a history of financial fraud he also spent years in federal prison. Those who have experienced this type individual know that getting out alive is usually as good as anyone could hope for. I have been scared for 5 years and now terrified....Mr. Schachter is one of the few that were not bowled over or ruffled by him and he actually had quite a bit of professional experience with this type of person. I am thankful to find him as he has helped and will continue to help me get my life back and protect my family. He is smart on so many levels, as this case requires it on every level. Not just legal know-how, Mr Schachter understands people, is street smart, extremely knowledgeable, and very genuine. He comes at his work from a very honorable place. My case is not over, by any means, as this is how some people prefer to live their lives. I know David will think many steps ahead for me and my family to help keep us protected as much as the court of law can provide. So far my outcome is as good as any parent could hope for in this high-conflict situation. He has been a saint against darkness for me, and worked long hours and weekends. He always got back to me quickly and updated me on the status and helped me understand what was necessary and what was a priority. Court can be overwhelming but I felt confident he knew exactly what to do. When there were options he fully defined each option and their positive and negative aspects. Mr Schachter is a trustworthy, strong, and dependable human being, and that is why he is so good at what he does as an attorney. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is serious about protecting their loved ones.

"I am pleased to endorse David I. Schachter as an attorney, especially in the areas of divorce, family law, and international child custody disputes. I have had the opportunity to witness David’s hard work and determination firsthand. David developed a strong interest in family law while we were in law school together, earning an award for his excellence in the field of family law. He also successfully merged his passion for family law with his position as an Editor for the Case Western Reserve Journal of International Law, authoring an article about international child custody disputes. David has since had broad experience in the area, leading to the unique opportunity to work on Chafin v. Chafin, an international child custody dispute which was recently heard by the U.S. Supreme Court. I believe that the fact that David was able to work on such an important case at such an early stage in his career is a true testament to his unique abilities and commitment to excellence."
