I was born and raised in Wilmington, North Carolina. I attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where I earned a degree in the administration of criminal justice. I attended law school at Campbell University now located in Raleigh, North Carolina, where I met my future husband, Johnny Foster, also a law student at Campbell University. After law school, I returned home to Wilmington to practice law with my father and my brother at the law firm of Smith and Smith. Johnny and I got married a few years later, and I moved to Savannah where Johnny was already practicing law with his current law firm. I went to work for then District Attorney Spencer Lawton as an assistant district attorney and remained in Mr. Lawton's office for 15 years prosecuting felony cases as a member of the Early Intervention Program team. I went into private practice in 2009 concentrating primarily in criminal defense. In 2013, I opened my own office to better serve my clients. I now limit my practice to misdemeanor criminal defense in both state and federal courts, juvenile delinquency defense, DUI and traffic defense, and probation violation defense. I pride myself on being responsive to the needs of my clients and on obtaining the best possible outcome under the circumstances of each individual case. I am here to help.

I received a DUI while visiting Savannah Georgia. I call my attorney Queen Bobby! The Queen was able to have my charges reduced so I could maintain my driver's license. Then, my State Indiana picked up my charges and tried to suspend my license. The Queen handled my affairs in a true five ...
"I fully endorse Barbara Foster as a criminal defense attorney. She has practiced for numerous years and she brings compassion and understanding to her clients as well as tremendous knowledge and experience in her field. She is also well respected in the community."
"You will not find a more caring criminal defense attorney than Attorney Foster. To top that, the experience she brings to her cases is incredible, particularly having formerly been a prosecutor. I have looked to Ms. Foster many times for advice on my own cases and she was always willing and able to give me excellent advice. I highly recommend Ms. Foster!"
