This man was assigned to me as my public defender, my initial visit with him lasted approx. 4 minutes where he stated that he would schedule me for court asap as I was only in jail for a traffic violation. Two weeks passed with no court date, so the jail counselor had to call him as he would not acce...pt my emails or phone calls from jail. He came for a 2nd visit during which he stated "you are in a lot of trouble young lady", I stated "no sit, that is all old stuff that has been satisfied already". He listened to me for approx. 3 minutes, at which time he packed up his papers hastily, leaned forward and stated "I have an idea, how about, don't go to jail" and stood up. I then said "wait, I'm not finished", he said " I am" and walked out of the room. I could not believe this man was speaking to me this way. I am a college graduate who has worked full-time as a social worker for over 15 years. I have never felt so disrespected as I did then. I had to hire a very inexpensive lawyer the next day and I was out of jail within one week of meeting with him. I promised myself that I would make this known to others by this review.
