Born October 4, 1952 in Anderson, South Carolina, Danny graduated from Furman University in 1977 and Atlanta Law School in 1980. He served as a Federal Law Clerk for the Honorable G. Ross Anderson, Jr. from 1980-1981 for the District of South Carolina. Desiring to become a trial lawyer in civil and criminal trials, Danny became a criminal investigator from 1982-1987. During those years he worked on and solved murder, rape, and violent felony crimes against children. He also planned and directed a Special Crimes Unit covering Anderson and Oconee counties in South Carolina, with the help of several state and federal law enforcement agencies, state social services, and Circuit Solicitor. The Unit was dedicated to the arrest and prosecution of persons committing sex crimes against children.
In 1987 hoping to gain valuable trial experience, Danny became an Assistant District Attorney in the Augusta Judicial Circuit, prosecuting 40 felony jury trials in one year. In 1988, Danny entered private practice with the Augusta firm of Fleming, Blanchard and Bonner where he tried a variety of criminal and civil jury trials for over 11 years. After a short time in private practice, Danny won his first million dollar civil case; other six and seven figure verdicts and settlements followed, and a few years later Danny received a civil jury verdict of 2.8 million dollars. He has won large settlements and verdicts in South Carolina, Oklahoma, and Georgia.
On April 1, 1999, Danny established Durham Law Firm at 2350 Washington Road in Augusta, Georgia. In August 2018 Durham Law Firm expanded our practice to include Family Law and relocated to 2560 Trade Center Drive in Evans, Georgia.
For the past 31 years, Danny has civilly prosecuted hundreds of common carrier/motor carrier cases, thus gaining valuable knowledge and insight into this specialty area of negligence law which governs professional drivers and the trucking industry in general. He keeps up with this specialty area of the law through numerous seminars and workshops. Since these cases often result in horrific damages to persons or death, they require an added level of expertise to properly handle all aspects of liability (fault) issues and damage issues, such as: punitive and special damages, lost income, past, present, and future disabilities, including brain and spinal injuries just to name a few.
Danny and his wife, Vicki, reside in Columbia County with their army of terriers. Together they have four sons. They are the grandparents of six precious grandchildren. Danny and Vicki attend Whole Life Ministries.
