Estate Planning 40%

Estate planning is the process of planning how a client's property will be distributed upon a client's death. This involves a last will and testament, and frequently, a revocable or irrevocable trust.A comprehensive estate plan can be relatively simple, or extremely complex, depending on the nature of the clients assets and family dynamics. Cleints with high net worth may be subject to the federal estate tax. Proper planning can help reduce the effect of such taxes.

Thank You.

I'm not so sure I expressed my appreciation for the legal work you did finalizing my husband's will and completing mine. The work you had done several years ago set the tone for how smooth the transition went in October. Thank you for that. You have a super capable team in your office and they repres...ent you in a very positive way. Again, thanks for everything.

Client

Mr. Lovingood has been my attorney for many years. He helped my late husband get his affairs in order, and after his passing, he helped me get his estate settled and the probate issues settled. He now has helped my current husband and me set up a trust and plan our estate matters. He also helped m...y current husband with his probate issue. He is very concerned with his clients and their personal affairs. I would highly recommend him to others.

My personal opinion of my attorney, Michael Shane Lovingood

Michael Shane Lovingood has been my personal attorney for several years. He has updated/revised my late husband's and my wills, trusts, and other matters relating to our estates, with great skill and personal care. He is very sharp and efficient.

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community

"I have known Shane for over 25 years and I strongly endorse this lawyer. I do not practice in the area of Estate Planning Law but I have referred clients to Shane and they have all been very pleased with his representation. Shane also has a great representation in the legal community in Dalton and all of North Georgia. I recently recommended Shane to a Cartersville Attorney who was looking for someone in the area of Wills and Trusts. That Attorney reported that Shane had done an outstanding job in taking care of that clients very difficult legal needs. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give Shane a 10 for his legal abilities in this area."

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community

"Shane and I have been friends for more than 35 years, were are former parners of a prior firm, we are sometimes opposing counsel on issues, we have mutual clients and also serve as co-counsel for clients. While we do have disagreements from time to time on legal theories and strategy, we both respect each others advice. I strongly reccomend any attorney or potential client to Mr. Lovingood for consultation and assitance in the areas of his practice."

Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
