Robby is a former criminal prosecutor in the Gwinnett and Alcovy Judicial Circuits (Walton and Newton County). He spent 20 years prosecuting every kind of criminal case from serious violent felonies to misdemeanors, traffic offenses, and juvenile matters. He has brought over 100 cases to trial over his career. He has obtained guilty verdicts in cases ranging from murder, child abuse, sex offenses, armed robbery, domestic violence, white collar crimes, and many others. He also successfully defended numerous convictions in the Court of Appeals and Supreme Court of Georgia.
During his time as an Assistant District Attorney, Robby was entrusted with the responsibility to train numerous young prosecutors and many local police officers in criminal law and procedure. For years, he was responsible for managing a Superior Court trial team consisting of other ADAs, investigators, and support personnel. He was also a frequent lecturer at the Gwinnett County Police Academy and worked closely with law enforcement on charging decisions, obtaining search warrants and strengthening their investigations.
In 2023, Robby decided to go into private practice and join Wosnik law to put his experience to work for those who could use his help. Whatever the situation, the choice of attorney an individual makes has enormous repercussions on the outcome of their case. Robby believes that everyone deserves effective, responsive, and compassionate representation and is prepared to use his experience and talent to help clients resolve their case in the best way possible.
Robby graduated with his Juris Doctor from Georgia State University in 2003. While in law school, he was selected for Moot Court (appellate advocacy) and the Student Trial Lawyer Association (mock trial), participating in statewide and national competitions in both. He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Engineering. At Georgia Tech, Robby developed the technical and analytical skills he still uses every day in the practice of law. He has particular interest in how advancing technologies such as social media, cell phones, DNA and other forensic sciences are used by police and prosecutors in the modern prosecution of cases.
Robby is a member of the Gwinnett County Bar Association, Newton County Bar Association, Walton County Bar Association, and the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is admitted to the practice of law in all Superior Courts and lower courts in Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of Georgia.
