About Jonathan
Biography
Jon Pope graduated from The Citadel in 1992 and received his law degree from Georgia State University in 1995. Jon began his legal career with the Atlanta law firm of Chambers, Mabry, McClelland & Brooks (now Mabry McClelland). Jon focuses his trial practice on a wide range of personal injury matters, including wrongful death, automobile and tractor trailer accidents, and medical negligence.
Along with his brother and partner, Tom Pope III, Jon received the firm’s first million dollar jury verdict in the matter of Flippen v. AGL Resources, Inc. before the Honorable John Mather in the State Court of Fulton County in January of 2009.
In March of 2009, Jon was named a “Rising Star” for the second time by his peers in Atlanta Magazine’s “Superlawyers” edition. Jon was also named was of Georgia “40 under 40” by Georgia Trend Magazine in 2004.
Jon is a former President of the Young Lawyers Division and Executive Committee member of the State Bar of Georgia. Jon currently serves on the State Bar’s finance committee, advisory committee on legislation, and communications committee.
Jon is a former two-term President of the Blue Ridge Circuit Bar Association and a trustee of the Georgia Institute for Continuing Legal Education. Jon also holds memberships in the American Bar Association, American Association for Justice, Southern Trial Lawyers Association, Gainesville-Northeastern Circuit Bar Association, Atlanta Lawyers Club, Old Warhorse Lawyers Club, Georgia Bar Foundation, and Gridiron Secret Society.
