Unprofessional and Unprepared

Hired in November of 2020. Her work is riddled with mistakes and oversights, so prepare to spend many hours proof reading her work. Does not advocate for client and will put her vacation ahead of your case, refusing to submit an allowed rebuttal because "I think the judge already is made up h...is mind." Incredibly rude over email and her poor reading comprehension means you'll often be asking the same question many times before receiving anything that resembles an answer to it. No understanding of basic facts of the case, no matter how many times things are communicated (will mix up family relations, witness names, addresses, timelines). Will fail to submit important evidence to the court that was provided to and available to her since before your first response to discovery, leading to it not being able to be entered and costing you thousands of dollars on top of what you are already paying her. If your hearing is over Zoom/Teams, be prepared to watch her incompetently attempt to rotate a PDF while skipping over all relevant parts. Will print and rescan documents you provided electronically, with the pages in disarray, wasting everyone's time before giving up and ignoring the point of the document. Wasted a great deal of time in the hearings by failing to understand how screen-sharing worked and was constantly stopping and starting screen sharing, while leaving her file explorer open and visible to all present, showing dates that the evidentiary documents were last edited which got them deemed inadmissible as evidence due to it showing as edited since the first hearing. Either does not listen or does not remember simple instructions such as that Facebook conversations export so that the conversation reads bottom to top. Will have the audacity to talk about how "proud" and "satisfied" she is with the result of your case, despite you coming out of it owing money to your spouse and being left unable to pay bills. On the topic of bills, you can look forward to your final attorney invoice coming less than a week before your first court ordered payments to your spouse. Invoices from Candace do not come on any particular schedule, they are due immediately and arrive sporadically and without any particular pattern. During the hearing Candace loudly whispered with her paralegal on an open microphone, leading to a complaint from the opposing council and making us both look unprofessional. Utterly embarrassing and incompetent. You would struggle to find a less effective Attorney.

Superb Child Custody Attorney

In times of immense stress and when there is so much on the line, such as the wellbeing and future of your children, you want to be able to rely on your counsel for advice and trust that she truly cares about your case and wants to see things be made right. This is who Candace is. I have experienced ...lawyers that remain relatively uninvolved and more or less forget who you even are until it's time to bill you - Candace remained absolutely hands-on through the entire process. It's honestly amazing, given her skills and how high in-demand she is, that she was able to sincerely devote so much time and energy to my case, obviously care about the outcome and, ultimately, win. She is precise, knowledgeable, and very forthright. Ultimately in my case justice was served and my children have a chance at a normal life. I would recommend (and already have several times) Candace to anyone, without hesitation, facing a divorce or contentious child custody scenario. She's amazing.

Great Attorney

Both Candace and her paralegal were always there when needed. They went above and beyond to help with any issues I had, especially during the holidays. Candace was insightful, fought for the protection of my children and always responded in a timely manner.

She is very professional and knowledgeable. You need to Call Her.

My husband filed for modification in Hall County almost two years before the case settled. We had two lawyers at the beginning. But we were not satisfied with them. I will say that my Husband’s case was very difficult and challenging. We visit many lawyers; however, they weren’t a good fit for the li...tigation because the case was quite difficult. I did research Avvo for the “Best Lawyer in Gainesville” and Candace’s name showed up on my list. We read her reviews and we like it. After we met with Candace the first time, we decided to hire her. That was the most intelligent and best decision we have made. I believed we work with Candace for about 12 months. She was very professional and knowledgeable. She understands the frustration. She was patience to explain the process and to find the legal remedies. I like the fact that she was very honest and did not give us false hopes. Her response was in a timely manner and her work ethics were excellent. In addition, she does not hesitate to fight for the children and to look for their best interest. She handles the opposing counsel very professional. At all the times, she was straight forward with him without hesitation. In other words, she defended my husband until the end. I am grateful for finding her. I highly recommend her as an Attorney. Thank you very much for your patience. Thank you for standing next to us and fight for the children as they were yours. We have great results. We were able to obtain what we were looking for. Thank you Candace.

My Divorce Case , as handled by Candace Williams

Candace was great, and extremely patient with me during my case. My now ex wife was extremely difficult to work with, and there were many times when I thought Candace was going to throw in the towel, but she always came up with option and stayed with my case until the end. There were not any question...s that Candace could not answer, and if for any reason she did not know at the moment, she would get back to me quickly with an answer. I would recommend her to anyone I know who was thinking about, or going through a divorce. You will not find a better attorney, as she actually cares about making sure that I got to best deal possible, but was realistic with me from beginning. There were no surprises, and I felt fully prepared the whole time.
