  1. Probate
    40%
The probate and administration process for estates is governed by myriad rules that often are difficult to understand and follow. Then there is the separate issue of whether a will is valid and whether an estate has been properly administered. My firm helps clients through the probate and administration process, and it represents clients in will contests and other estate-related claims.

  2. Estate planning
    20%
Having an estate plan is a must in today's over-regulated and litigious society. Without a plan, an estate is exposed to a multitude of claims by creditors and beneficiaries. My firm helps its clients develop a strong, deliberate plan to maximize benefits and minimize expenses and entanglement with the courts. We prepare instruments such as wills, trusts, financial powers of attorney, and advanced healthcare directives as part of your plan.

  3. Guardianship
    20%
People often wonder, "Who will take care of me when I can't take care of myself." For many, family will be available to help. Others are not so fortunate. In either case, a guardianship (for care) and conservatorship (for finances) can serve an important role in ensuring that someone will be able to do what is necessary to ensure those who need help get help. My firm helps create guardianships and make sure they are being done properly.

  4. Trusts
    20%
Trusts can be used for a variety of purposes, including asset distribution, tax and probate avoidance, and specific needs such as protection of government disability benefits for disabled persons. My firm helps clients prepare trusts to meet their particular needs. My firm also handles disputes over the creation, management, and settlement of trusts.

I am married and have two sons in preschool.  When I am not lawyering, I typically am reading.  Novels, non-fiction, politics, and science are my favorite genres and subjects.  I also hike and bike.  I am a member of a few professional associations, including the Atlanta Bar Association.

Amiable and Knowledgeable
I consulted with Esquire Libby this August about preventing a conservator from blocking the sale of our family home of over 50 years. His depth of knowledge and experience is deep. I found him to be quite amiable as well.

Wonderful to Work With
I highly recommend Kasey Libby with Libby Law Firm. Mr. Libby has a thorough knowledge of the law and is excellent in explaining all options, possible outcomes and consequences available in terms that are readily understandable. He is very personable but can also be very firm when needed in getting action. Mr. Libby was an adamant representative for my rights and stood up to aggressive tactics from opposing counsel. I was extremely with my representation by Mr. Libby.

Professional and responsive.
I was the administrator of my mom's simple will and did most of the paperwork and filings on my own, but turned to Kasey Libby in a crisis for several visits when the inevitable sibling squabbling started. He was a true professional and a trusted guide during the probate process, which turned out to be not so simple. His suggestions were very helpful to speed the process along and help keep me and my siblings calm during a very difficult period.

Mr. Libby made my sister's estate easy
My sister died in Atlanta, I live in Virginia Beach. I never had to go to Atlanta. Mr. Libby and his assistant, Cherrie Bottie, guided and advised me efficiently through a necessary step by step grueling and lengthy process (16 months). Emails were constant when needed as well as phone contact. His retainer was more than fair. His referral came from my sister's friend and neighbor (also a paralegal) who's husband's estate was handled by Mr. Libby. I had never needed a estate attorney before and had no idea what to do. Mr. Libby made this as painless as he could. I have nothing but praise for him and Cherrie. The process takes time, for any estate lawyer, but according to my family lawyer this could have taken up to 2 years. In short, price, speed, communication, advice and the distance consideration could not been handled better.

"RE: METRO ATLANTA PROBATE LAWYER KASEY LIBBY! I do not usually give recommendations, however, I feel compelled to let people know about Atlanta probate lawyer Kasey Libby. I want to share this with you because I know the lawyer you choose to represent you has a tremendous impact on the outcome of your case. The truth is, not all lawyers are equal in their ability, care, effort, or resources they put into any given case. Nor do they provide the same level of service, have the same knowledge, or give same level of representation to clients. In fact, many lawyers do not to do everything they can to advance and win your case. Kasey Libby is the exception. He is a rare breed of lawyer. Kasey Libby's representation of his clients is diligent and exceptional, relentless, and second to none. Nor does Kasey Libby charge excessive fees.
