Biography
Daniel is the Managing Member of the Law Office of Daniel R. Crumby, LLC, and he specializes in complex litigation and business law including white-collar defense; defense of corporate, insurance, and individual clients in state and federal courts around the country; medical malpractice; nursing home and elder abuse; healthcare compliance and investigations; personal injury, and criminal law. Daniel presents nationwide on the implications of the opioid epidemic and how to defend these claims, and he is a Member of the Georgia Attorney General's Statewide Opioid Task Force. He consults with medical providers nationwide regarding addressing the opioid epidemic. Consequently, counsel requests his assistance consulting on these cases around the country.
Daniel holds a double certification in Healthcare Compliance and Compliance and Ethics Professional. He holds a Masters of Healthcare Administration from Seton Hall University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Texas at El Paso.
Daniel previously worked at a mid-sized law firm in Atlanta, and he specialized in criminal and civil healthcare-related white-collar cases, medical malpractice, healthcare compliance, internal investigations, and defending insurance companies and their insurers in complex cases, including lawsuits filed against skilled nursing facilities and assisted living facilities.
He served as a federal prosecutor in the Western District of Texas wherein he directed and prosecuted numerous cases including healthcare fraud, bank fraud, narcotics, alien smuggling, child exploitation, human and sex trafficking, and other criminal violations. In 2014, Daniel received a Commendation from the Federal Bureau of Investigation Director, James B. Comey. Daniel transferred to the Southern District of Georgia, wherein he investigated and prosecuted white-collar crimes including procurement fraud, mortgage fraud, wire fraud, theft of government funds, child sexual exploitation, medical malpractice, premises liability and other tort litigation, labor and employment, tax, bankruptcy and creditor's rights, civil rights, and other complex litigation.
He previously served in the Army as military police and as a Judge Advocate General ("JAG") officer in a variety of assignments, including Deputy Staff Judge Advocate of White Sands Missile Range, and as a prosecutor. He was twice awarded the Meritorious Service Medal for his military service.
