Great lawyer!

Katie is an experienced family court attorney who has represented me in two cases. Both cases went to trial and the last case ultimately went to the appellate court. The outcome of both superior court cases and the appellate court ruling were all reasonable and favorable. Family court cases are ne...ver easy for any family member. Emotions can be high and it is easy to be sensitive. Katie was always understanding and clearly communicated the process and potential outcomes. Ultimately it was my decision on how to proceed and she advocated for my case intensely the entire way. The timeframe for these cases covered almost 6 years. Katie was very cognizant on hours billed and focused on managing those hours charged to efforts that are impactful. Her responses were timely while considering the urgency of the matter. Both of these demonstrated her ability to effectively manage her time, including mine, as the cases progressed. Katie is a very experienced trial attorney. She is well prepared and took the time to ensure I was too by doing mock trials so I was as prepared as I could be to testify in court. She did a substantial amount of preparatory work before both trials and included evidence I had provided. This included key pieces of information I had uncovered while going through the results of numerous subpoenas. Also, Katie took the time to tailor her cross-examination style to each witness on the stand. This included a clear objective in mind and a line of questioning that resulted in the Judge easily understanding the point we were trying to make. While it is preferred to resolve issues without going to a trial, some cases just result in one. Katie did exceptionally well at trying to find a way to avoid us going to one but once it was apparent a trial was going to be the path forward, she was upfront about the possible outcomes and made them clear to me. I appreciated Katie’s clear communications, dedication, effective time management, and how she intensely advocated for my case from beginning to end. If you are in need of legal advice or assistance, I would highly recommend Katie.

High Conflict Case, Exceptional Outcome!

I cannot say enough good things about Katie Leonard. If you are looking for an attorney who is strategic, prepared, confident in the courtroom, and truly cares about her clients, she is the one. My case was extremely high conflict. I was hit with a false TPO that forced me out of my own home and a...way from my daughter. As a very involved father and my daughter’s softball coach, that was devastating. From the beginning, Katie treated my case with urgency and professionalism. At our emergency hearing, she was so prepared and so effective that the TPO was dismissed before court even officially got underway. That moment alone changed the entire direction of my case. Over the next two years, we navigated divorce, custody, child support, and a guardian ad litem. This was my first experience ever dealing with court, and I had no idea how the system worked. If there was ever a client who could have been taken advantage of, it would have been me but that is not who Katie is. She was transparent, communicative, and strategic every step of the way. She could have dragged the case out for billing purposes, especially in a county as busy as Cobb, but she did not. She focused on resolution and results. In court, Katie is a powerhouse. She is calm but commanding. She knows the law, she knows procedure, and she knows how to present evidence effectively. During our divorce hearing, she meticulously went through financial records and uncovered inconsistencies and income that the other side tried to hide. Her attention to detail mattered. She even ran the courtroom presentation seamlessly using her laptop and the projector something I didn’t even know was possible and it made a huge difference in how clearly our case was presented. The outcome: 50/50 custody and a fair resolution on support. We were even able to utilize a parenting time deviation strategy before it formally went into law in 2026. That level of forward thinking and preparation speaks volumes. Divorce and custody battles are emotional. Not everyone gets the outcome they hope for. But in my experience, Katie was honest about expectations, prepared me for reality, fought hard when it mattered, and delivered results. She was worth every penny. If you want an attorney who will advocate fiercely for you, stay composed under pressure, and truly bring the heat when it counts, I highly recommend Katie Leonard and the team at Leonard & O’Neil.

Narcissistic money grabbers

It became evident from the outset that this lawyer's primary concern was money, not the well-being of their clients. Throughout the entire process, I felt like I was just another source of income rather than a person in need of assistance. Not only was the communication lacking, but it seemed that... every decision made was based on what would bring in the most profit for the lawyer, rather than what was best for me as the client. There was a distinct lack of empathy and understanding of my situation, and it was clear that their only motivation was to maximize their fees. The young girl that runs the front desk is very sweet but extremely inexperienced. If you’re a firm representing high conflict cases , you need someone at the front just as knowledgeable and ORGANIZED. In court, their lackluster performance was evident. It was apparent that they had not put in the effort to adequately represent me, and it felt like they were more interested in rushing through the proceedings to move on to the next paying client. Their lack of dedication and genuine interest in my case was truly disheartening. I strongly advise anyone in need of legal assistance to steer clear of this firm. Their focus on financial gain over the well-being of their clients is unacceptable and reflects a severe lack of professional ethics.

Incompetent

She will take your money then have the audacity to come after you seven months later since her clientele is poor, making up fake deductions, requesting for you to pay her more. After she failed to represent you. I sat on my computer for two hours, uploading pictures of my child, and she didn’t use on...e. The other party provided pictures since she failed to provide all the documentation I provided I had the judge a Fulton in County viewing my Instagram story days after the hearing due to her negligence. I honestly don’t see how she has not been sued for malpractice. Her husband is a judge in cobb county and uses her husbands title to gain clientele. An attorney’s duty is to use such skill, prudence, and diligence as lawyers of ordinary skill and capacity commonly possess and exercise in the performance of tasks which they undertake…. An attorney is not bound to extraordinary diligence. He / She is bound to reasonable skill and diligence, and the skill has reference to the character of the business he undertakes to do. She threw my case together the day before my hearing also told me I was gonna lose custody the day before aka “preparing me” failed to have the knowledge of certain things she should have she willingly allow me to walk into court knowing I was going to lose custody of my child to gain some money: the loss was the result of this lawyer’s action or inaction. I do not recommend using her as a lawyer ,if you go to search for Google reviews, nothing comes up except for this platform with only three reviews. This whole law firm is extremely narcissistic. Her assistant was extremely rude as well. They act like they’re sh*t doesn’t stink and don’t know what they’re doing.. but are quick to tell you what you want to hear to get your money. I’m convinced majority of these reviews are fake. The binder documentation she had was a bunch of nonsense of repeat copies She failed to use any of the documentation I provided that would help my case I should’ve represented myself

Caitlyn, it's unfortunate you chose to relay my representation in this way. These comments are not reflective of my representation or how I handled your case.

"Katie and I worked together as co-chairs of the Young Lawyers Division Family Law Section. Katie was a great co-chair and her involvement has been very beneficial to our committee. Katie is also an excellent advocate who works hard to get the best results for her clients. She is a great attorney who is able to work with her opposition to reach reasonable resolutions. But she is also more than capable of taking her cases before the court for a hearing if that becomes necessary."
