A native son of Richmond, VA, Calvin was an All-America football player at Huguenot High School and went on to become a three-year starter for the West Virginia University Mountaineers football team. Called upon for a higher purpose, Calvin would decide to dedicate his life to helping others live better and achieve more, leaving behind the pursuit of becoming a professional athlete. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts degree at WVU and returned home where he earned his law degree from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond.
Calvin began his legal career in Atlanta as staff attorney for Fulton County Superior Court Judge Gail S. Tusan before moving into private practice at a mid-sized Atlanta area law firm. Calvin opened his own law practice in 2002, to make a positive impact on people lives by getting to know every client’s unique needs and tailoring his services to meet those needs. For over 20 years, Calvin has spent thousands of hours listening deeply to people from all walks of life, understanding what they care about, and empowering them to make decisions to achieve their ultimate goals---and more!
Channeling his personal approach and commitment to helping clients, Calvin entered estate planning to impact his client’s lives at a multi-generational level. Calvin recognized that estate planning was a service that was far too often overlooked by most people because of a misconception that they didn’t have enough wealth for an estate plan. And time and again, he saw his clients working hard to provide for a better future for their families, only to leave the decisions that most impacted their family’s lives to judges and strangers because there was no estate plan.
Calvin founded Georgia Wealth Attorneys, P.C. (GWA), a professional corporation dedicated to providing clients with security and peace of mind by empowering them to make decisions and devise a clear plan for their property and assets today, in order to provide for the people who matter most tomorrow.
GWA operates in Atlanta, Georgia where Calvin spends each day bringing the safety, security, and life-changing benefits of estate planning to hardworking people across the state. When he’s not helping others secure a bright future, you can find Calvin spending time in the kitchen cooking for his wife or travelling to see his daughter play volleyball for the University of Virginia.
Calvin is a member of the National Top 100 Black Lawyers, The National Top 100 Trial Lawyers, and the Georgia Bar Association and is admitted to practice before the Georgia Supreme Court, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Northern District of Georgia and the Middle District of Georgia.
