Mr. Kirby G. Smith is the Founding Partner of the Kirby G. Smith Law Firm. Mr. Smith’s passion to work in the employment law field began before he even attended law school, working as an office manager and legal assistant for an employment firm. Over the years, Mr. Smith has accumulated substantial legal experience in the employment field, working for employment law firms for many years. Mr. Smith has seen the inner-workings of many different types of employers, as his past work experience has taken him through both the federal government’s Department of Housing and Urban Development and the United States Air Force in Warner Robins, GA. He now takes all his experience as an employment lawyer and provides it at prices all employees can afford.

 

Mr. Smith has taken employment law cases going before both the United States District Court and the United States Court of Appeals. Additionally, he has tried cases before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB), the Office of Special Counsel (OSC), and the Inspector General’s Office.

 

Mr. Smith was born and raised in Conyers, Georgia, and currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia. He is an avid runner and gets in as much football-watching as his weekends permit.

Mr. Kirby Smith is a wonderful human being before he is an attorney. He helped me take on and win my case against one of the largest state agencies in the state of Georgia. His victory against 3 state attorneys from the Attorney General’s Office to prove the profound discrimination I was subjected to is justice served. If you want to hire a consummate and very capable attorney who fights hard and smart, he is the one. Also, he does not charge for banal and redundant work. He is worth every penny as he passionately cares for the helpless and those who suffer injustices. Thank you.

Honest , Inexpensive Attorney

Absolutely Great Consultation
Got the information that I needed to make an informed decision and didn't feel at all like I was being lead into legal action. Told me exactly what I could expect from my employer and when I should be concerned about pursuing legal action. Entire consultation was about an hour and can't explain how it eased my mind.

Very Professional
Kirby Smith exceeded my expectations in many ways. He was very knowledgeable, and so was his diligent staff. He was a good negotiator who came prepared, set a proper tone, listened well, spoke with fairness and knowledge of the law, and delivered successful results in a difficult situation. No complications; only sound and straight forward legal advice
Had a workers comp claim about an employee who was injured at work. With the help of surveillance we found out more and the case never made it to the court. We ended up negotiating a settlement. Mr. Smith presented all the options available to us very clearly. I'm glad we chose his firm to represent us. Always kept our expense and cost in mind and presented sound and pragmatic advice. He's very hands on and available to answer any questions. I would work with him if there is a need in the future.

Integrity and Quality service
In February 2016, I received notice from my Human Resources Dept. that due to a manpower study there would be a Reduction-In-Force (RIF) and I would be losing my position. My new position would be non-supervisory and rigorous which due to physical ailments acquired over the years I'm no longer able to perform the tasks. I elected to go out on a disability retirement. I contacted Mr. Smith and explained my situation and he told me what the fee is and we started the process. Mr. Micah Barry was assigned to me and he provided outstanding service, was always professional and the most important thing to me next to God is integrity. I ended up getting my position back after 2.5 months and no longer need to retire. Mr. Barry contacted me about refunding the retainer minus the work that he performed. They restored my faith in attorneys, I had horrible experiences in the past, but the law office of Kirby Smith are honest, hard-working professionals and I strongly recommend their services. Before calling Kirby Gordon Smith, I spoke to a few attorneys and none of them made me feel as comfortable/secure. I was not quite ready to move forward with my case but, that did not prompt a "just call back when you're ready" response. Instead, I was able to provide information on my potential case, was given a name and number to call back with any questions, and also provided some very valuable information for how I should document moving forward. Very supportive!
I am currently using Mr. Smith's legal services for a complaint I have against a merchant. Mr. Smith has been guiding me throughout the process, always clearly communicating what my next step should be and how to implement it. He has handled procedures where it made sense to do so, and has guided me when the process required me to be involved. Severance Agreement (Prefer to Rate a 4.5)
If possible, I would give Mr. Smith's performance in handling my case a 4.5 but this scale does not allow for that. Mr. Smith provided me with a lot of information during our consultation, which I appreciated. After retaining Mr. Smith he consistently answered all of my questions in a timely manner. When I retained Mr. Smith I only wanted two things and Mr. Smith successfully got me what I wanted. I was super stressed out during the process but I do believe Mr. Smith did what he could to keep me informed and keep me calm. I feel that Mr. Smith did a great job and I would definitely use his services again.
