Shana's practice is focused exclusively on the area of family law including divorce, child custody and visitation, spousal and child support, post-decree order modifications and all related matters. Life changes are rarely anticipated and frequently fraught with anxiety. The practice of family law is not manipulating facts of cases neatly into a set a laws. It is complex balance of protecting clients and their families fiscally and emotionally. Shana's approach to family law can be summed by two maxims she strives to live by. The first – there is incredible value in being of service to others and second - Attitude it equally as important as ability. Shana stays fully abreast of changes in Georgia law and legal trends in family law in an effort to provide her clients with the best outcomes. While she has represented hundreds of clients in Atlanta, Georgia metropolitan area including the counties of Fulton, DeKalb, Cobb, Cherokee, Gwinnett, Paulding, Bartow and throughout the state of Georgia, she remains sensitive to each client's personal matter. Whether her clients have modest means or are multi-millionaires, artists and professional athletes or retail workers and homemakers, equally, everyone receives her steadfast commitment to providing exceptional service and aggressive advocacy. While she is a tough and formidable opponent, she believes in maintaining ethical and professional working relationships with opposing counsel and parties. So, if you are merely seeking a paid “pitbull” with little to no deference to colleagues, the law or the long-term effects of the outcome of your case, then Shana is not the attorney for you. Although she understands and does not believe that every case need to or should go to trial, Shana has never shied away from successfully advocating for her clients before juries, trial and appellate courts, having logged hundreds of hours of trial time. Shana has been an active participant in a host of various legal, community and social organizations. She has served as a mentor for Georgia's Institute of Continuing Legal Education's Trial Skills practicum for six years, having mentored attorneys throughout the state in trial skills. She was tapped to serve on The Georgia Commission on Children, Marriage, and Family Law by former Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice Leah Ward Sears. Originally from Framingham, Massachusetts, Shana has lived in Georgia for over fifteen years. When not at the office, Shana can usually be found entertaining guests and family, watching football (“Go Dawgs”) or trying out some DIY home project with the rest of the Pennywells – her husband, daughter and two sons - at their home in Atlanta's historic Grant Park neighborhood.
