Mecca Shali Anderson

Mecca has always stood up to bullies. It started on the playground—the tiniest one out there, but likely the loudest and the fastest to take a stand. Years later, after an accumulation of education with intense training mixed with her zeal for helping people, she continues fighting for the underdog against large corporations and insurance companies.

Mecca brings a distinctive skill set to the firm’s trial practice. She is tenacious, competitive, compassionate, honest, and a real straight shooter. Most importantly, she detests big businesses, industries, or anyone else standing in the way of her client and their fair compensation. Period.

Mecca’s professional background has enabled her to excel at trial work. She began clerking for judges while attending Valpo Law, but it was her clerkship with Georgia Supreme Court Justice Robert Benham that launched her legal career. After leaving the Supreme Court, Mecca practiced at arguably the state’s top boutique litigation firm. From there, she stepped into her calling as a trial lawyer with a national Black-owned law firm known not just for its spectacular verdicts but also its commitment to social justice. Now, as one of the state’s fastest rising legal stars, she is bringing her talents to the Werner Law team.

Winning justice for her deserving clients is not Mecca’s only professional desire. Committed to the adage “to whom much is given, much is required,” Mecca serves Atlanta’s legal community as a leader with the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys (GABWA), the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association (GTLA), and the DeKalb Bar Association. Mecca was selected as a 2017 member of the GTLA LEAD Program. She is an alumna of the State Bar of Georgia’s Young Lawyers’ Division Leadership Academy, and she has been recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star every year since 2019.
