also known as Rebecca L. Smith
I have always been an advocate for families since before graduating from college in 2011. Since that time, I have held multiple positions serving children and families dealing with the struggles of homelessness, substance abuse, mental health issues, and domestic violence. I made the decision to go to law school after experiencing firsthand the complexities of child custody. As a mother and stepparent, I understand many of the issues clients face and I am able to approach these situations with a deep level of empathy and understanding. My passion for advocating for children remains a substantial part of my life and continues to drive me.
I graduated in 2024 with a Juris Doctorate from Atlanta's John Marshall Law School. I worked as a law clerk while in law school and I volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate ("CASA"), which is an organization that advocates for children in foster care. In addition, I completed an externship with the Juvenile Prosecutor in Coweta County, which added to my courtroom exposure.
I helped to reestablish a Family Law Society at my law school and took on the role of Vice President and then President, to help provide students opportunities for family law involvement and exposure.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and our three children. I enjoy planning and attending events, traveling, and staying active at the gym.
