Civil Matter

Mr. Haugen is an excellent representative for the people. My daughter's name change was painless and there was no time delay. We appreciate all that he did for a successful outcome.

Excellent Down to Earth Attorney!

Walt did an outstanding job providing his legal knowledge and experience with my divorce. He made the legal side of it as painless as possible. He was diligent in getting answers in a timely fashion and the process moved fairly quickly. He has a very strong assistant as well. I will definitely use h...im again in the future for other legal needs.

I could have done a better job myself...

I think he probably is a good family/divorce attorney but don't use him for criminal law. He isn't very knowledgeable in the area and never returns calls. I had to go to his office to get any response. I think he allows his personal views to cloud his defense. This was a modification hearing. Ther...e were difficult circumstances but it was a hearing for sex offender modification. People attach such a stigma without knowing the circumstances. He knew the DA stance and allowed him to badger my children. I allowed the DA to speak privately with my children with Mr. Haugen present and he did nothing to defend them. If you don't believe what your client is telling you or you are biased towards a case due to your personal beliefs then don't take the case! These are people's lives and shouldn't be taken lightly. An attorney needs to fight for you and their actions typically affect a person for years. I wish I had researched attorneys more thoroughly before choosing. It was utter disappointment to say the least.

The person who wrote this post was not my client. She never hired me to represent her in any legal action. Although I do recognize the matter mentioned above, my client was a male, was not named Veronica, and, to the best of my knowledge, did not have children. Since my client did not write this post, I cannot ethically discuss the facts of the case.

There aren't enough words.........

I was faced with an unfortunate, difficult decision involving my children. My ex-husband made some life changing decisions that adversely affected my children. I had to make a tough but necessary decision to petition the court of a modification of visitation. The subject matter was highly sensitiv...e. The circumstances and facts were convoluted at best. I talked to several different attorneys and felt that none of them understand how important my children's best interest were to me. Not to mention that I was told I didn't have "much of a case". I met with Walt Haugen and hired him on the SPOT! After laying the facts in front of him and explaining to him why I was concerned, he clearly was ready to fight for my children! While there is never a guarantee in a court case, Mr. Haugen provided me with peace and comfort that he would fight with everything he had in him. Mr. Haugen is very diligent, meticulous, careful, precise, detailed, knowledgeable and analytical. If I had a question, it was answered timely and in a way that I would/could understand. I did exactly what Mr. Haugen told me to during the case. My case took approximately 18 months to get in Court and get a verdict. Once the case was heard by the Judge, I was awarded more than what was we requested because the Judge felt more was warranted. There are not enough words to express my gratitude and appreciation to Walt Haugen and his assistant for a job well done. I have referred several friends to Walt Haugen since meeting him. If you are looking for an attorney who will be honest, hard working, and take his time to work for you--hire Walt Haugen. This is the first attorney I have EVER worked with that values each of his clients and protects their best interest with everything legal avenue possible! Mr. Haugen will be open, honest and not sugar coat anything--nor will he make promises or guarantees that he cannot keep. If you are looking for someone to be in a rush, tell you what you want to hear, make empty promises, shove you in the door and back out, not listen to your concerns or desires--Walt Haugen ISN'T your guy!
